If you like LH you better have Heed already, dudes from LH making even better music. I am not into LH anyways.

Evergrey - unique prog/power band

I have all their albums except their newest.
Love the band but Inner circles was a huge deception for me and
I have a feeling their newest release won't be that great.

Inner Circles is very good if you can get past the melodious nature of it. Monday Morning Apocalypse is more typical, but still a bit different from their earlier stuff. I think both are very good albums.

Inner circles was not by any means bad, but it never got my attention like In Search of Truth and Recreation Day did. It doesn't grab me like their previous 2 albums and I never feel like going back to it like ISOT and Recreation.

Maybe a little extreme (hehehe), but I totally agree. Unless you're someone who prefers mid-paced songs over ones that are very fast, Lost Horizon is lightyears ahead.
My colleague John will be reviewing the Heed debut for one of the Metal CD Ratings August updates. I'm very curious of his take on the CD.... 8)

I'm currently listening to Axenstar which Clint recommended earlier and so far they sound good.

NP: Axenstar - Far From Heaven

Yeah!! Damn good band. The vocalist doesn't have much range, but they are still damn catchy. "Blind Leading the Blind" is my favorite song by them.

Agreed, awesome band!! :D
.... oh, and that's my favorite song from them as well.
That CD is on my "to listen to" list actually. 8)

If you're really into Axenstar, Twilightning, Supreme Majesty, Thunderstone, Dreamtale, Sonata Arctica, and so on... Definitely check out the debut 'Midday moon' from Cardiant. They're a great new band, although don't expect to hear anything new... they're right in line with the mentioned bands. :)
Nightscape, Moonville and Citadel are also new bands recommended to fans of this style.

See I don't think so. I like Heed but I think LH is pretty gay and boring. Different tastes.......

What Clint said is dead on, I like mid paced, heavier songs. Not fast as shit with high pitched vocals which drives me insane.

Inner Circle is a great album by the way from Evergray.

I like both, but mid-paced groovy songs with killer hooks are my favs.

Yep. What do you think of the new album? It's like a mix of the old stuff and the melody of Inner Circle, I think.

By the way, I like Lost Horizon, but I'd like smack them for that fucking make-up and those stupid names! And Awakening the World is better than A Flame To The Ground Beneath. Just so you bitches know.

Well Ken we can totally fucking agree on this point. I am fucking sorry, and I even like Corspe paint and shit for certain bands but LH is just beyond gay with their make up and names and all of that crazy shit. Just shut up and play metal. It ruins the vibe for me plus they are really not all that anyways, just just play fast Heavy Metal, nothing special at all.

I like the direction the dudes went with Heed, leaving the gayness behind and concentrating on the music.

I didn't buy the new Evergray, I have to be in the mood for them and I have everything up to the Inner Circle (except the first album) and that is just enough of that band. I like Inner Circle better then Recreation Day, but In Search of Truth is the shit.

I was listening to Heed but yesterday. A lot better than I remember. Heiman's voice is just amazing.

You've got a point about them looking silly in the paint and the names, but I guess that stuff doesn't bother me when the music is so true and powerful. I liked their values too, self-empowerment, no fate only power of will and whatnot. I hope they find a new singer but it's going to be hard filling Daniel's shoes for sure. A Flame To the Ground Beneath has a couple less than stellar songs after track 2, but as soon as Cry of A Restless Soul comes on, it is just sheer musical extasy right through the end of Highlander.

No, I haven't yet. I keep hearing good things though. So, I'll have to look into them.
