This is a strangely diverse offering from Vader. Unexpected symphonic intro for The Book (for a second I thought there's Lacrimosa playing), an apocalyptic keyboard intro for Hellaluyah!!! (God Is Dead) that immediately changes into a weird catchy and quite happy (by death metal standards, anyway) chorus and, most shocking of all, a real doom metal song. Predator is a song Candlemass would be jealous of, I now think Piotr, Mauser & co. should form a doom band as a side project.

Aside from that, the usual Vader goods, and songs like ShadowsFear, Warlords, Fields Of Heads or They Live!!! (what's up with the exclamation marks in two Vader titles???) are as strong as they come, at least for my taste. All in all a very good album, probably my favourite 2006 DM album so far.

Well, sadly, Vader dissapointed me a little with this. They're one of my favourite bands, Litany is like my favourite death metal album ever. They gave me hope with the excellent Art of War EP, this one is not much like it. Some songs show the speed and aggression of AoV and Litany but others are just simply boring.

I hope it'll grow on me, some songs are simply amazing. Like Warlords. It wouldn't be out of place in Litany.

Well well, this sounds like it will be a much more diverse offering than that of the total borefest that was The Beast. I'll be checking this out!
