It's a fact that we all have different opinions about music here, but I'm wondering if there might be one band or artist that every poster on this forum can agree on liking. I want to see if there might be something that everyone thinks is good, not just ok or acceptable, but a good band or artist.
It can be any genre, not just metal.


EDIT: There are several bands up to the test right now. Are all of these bands pleasing everyone? I find it hard to believe.

EDIT 2: There has been discussion about classical music as well. Anyone who does NOT like the works of famous composers like Mozart, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Wagner and so on? It might be unfair to stack them all together, but it would make things a lot easier.

I dont like Maiden that much... They're decen tuntil Bruce Dickinson starts chanting the chorus ad nauseum

I've never heard much of Death so I can't really say anything about em.

Even if there was a band that everyone could agree on, you're always going to have someone come in and be contrary, just because they can.

That may be true, but I would really like everyone to form a group hug and be honest for once. Not too much to ask. Do it for Jesus, or whatever floats your boat...

I think everybody would approve Death, except the ones who haven't heard it. (satan knows how the hell a metalhead hasn't heard Death :roll: )

Yeah yeah, I'm a little ashamed, but theres been so much other stuff to check out and... well I guess I've forgotten about Death, that's all. I'll get to em soon.

Maiden/ Blind Guardian/ Death. Those are all good ones.

Death is probably a good choice. I know I love them.

Testament?

To find a band everyone currently likes will be hard. Turds like lee+1 can't continue enjoying bands once they have more than 1,000 fans. Thus it's easier to find a band that everyone at one point or another liked, rather than a band everyone currently likes, like Trivium.

Dark Tranquillity ? never heard anyone say anything negative about them on this board!

Good choice, I don't actually recall anyone saying anything negative about them. Of course, once their new album comes out and they've gone metalcore it's all over! Come on, you know it's gonna happen!

Just kidding. I want Projector II. I don't care. Awesome album!

Pink Floyd

Im sure I've said it a million times, but in my eyes..Death is the best metal band ever.

From the little i've heard of them they aren't that great.

I'd go with Death, Blind Guardian, Maiden, Dark Tranquility, or Pink Floyd. I'm really quite agreeable.

Blind Guardian wont work, Wanks puts a kink in that chain. I've never listened to Death, my musical interests havent brought me to their door yet, someday I expect. Pink Floyd I find ok, but disgustingly overrated, guess I had to be there.

I dont know if I could think of a band everyone would love or at least like.

Of the ones mentioned already, I would agree with these: Blind Guardian, Therion, Testament.

And I will add: Pre-PBGA Helloween, Gamma Ray, Grave Digger, and Morgana Lefay

This band...it doesn't exist!
