There's a new song clip at the end of this. Matt Smith posted it on the Theocracy messageboard saying this is why the new album is taking so long, it's like a blooper reel. Kind of funny, new clip sounds good.

Saw it before you.

Stalker!

Taken from the Theocracy board:

Hello Friends--

We recorded a live, warts-n-all version of "Twist of Fate" from rehearsal the other day, and decided to share it with you. Warning, it contains all manner of rawness, everything from flying drumsticks to off-key vocals to instrumental flubs to blurry and very dark camera work, but hey, that's why it's rehearsal. But the vibe is there and it rocks and we were having fun, so I figured some of you would enjoy seeing it.

This will also serve as an introduction to the newest Theocracy member, bassist Seth Filkins! Seth is my cousin and great friend, and is very musically talented so I know he'll be a positive addition to the band.

Hi-Res Version:
http://www.theocracymusic.com/Twist_Hi.wmv (44.10MB)

This song is the last track from the self-titled album.

Oh man I would be pissed. That's funny though. Matt Smith seems to have a good sense of humor. I mean, the guy shows his fans, bloopers, makes fun of Metallica, and now this. Funny shit.

Agreed. He seems pretty cool for a Christian!

Here's some real samples from the upcoming album:

35-SECOND MP3 CLIP
QUICKTIME VIDEO

The Quicktime video will likely not play unless you have the latest fucking pre-packaged-must-download-iTunes-if-you-want-this-version-of-Quicktime-hahahaha-asshole-you-suck version of Quicktime. You get the audio, but there's not much worth listening to.

The MP3 sample sounds awesome, though.

Sounds interesting. There's no doubt that Smith has talent. The s/t was good (with some amazing moments) but I was dissapointed, probably because I read ben's review first :P I mean, it's a great album, but best power metal album of 2003? Better than A Flame to the Ground Beneath? Better than Winterhearts Guild? Better than Masterplan? I don't think so.

I right up there with all those. It's not a crazy thought at all, the debut is brilliant in my opinion. The only flaw I feel is that occasionally the drum machine sounds too much like a drum machine, but song-wise, yes, the album is right up there with the best from that year.

No diggity, no doubt.

From the Theocracy board:

Quote:
Here’s a video we recorded this past weekend at rehearsal with the full-band lineup. One full song, and clips of a couple of others. You’ll hear bad notes and bloopers here and there, but that’s why it’s rehearsal. No background vocals or anything on this; just stripped down and basic.

Hope you enjoy it.

2006 REHEARSAL VIDEO

AWESOME! But not a new song. :(

I'm not an expert on Christian Power Metal. I spent my childhood in a variety of different and exciting ways, music being largely left out of it.

So, yes, I'm serious.

Edit: OK, how the fuck should I know this is page two?

I just clicked on the 'latest post' tab thing. Not my fault...

Anyways, good stuff. Nice album cover, and 11 min songs are good. I'll eye an out keep.

This is an awesome band! In fact, it's essentially a one-man band.

-All music and lyrics written by Matt Smith.

-All lead and choir vocals, rhythm, lead, acoustic and bass guitars, keys and orchestration, and drum programming by Matt Smith.

-Produced, engineered and mixed by Matt Smith at Theocracized Studios, Athens, GA, from January 2002 to May 2003.

Matt Smith is the man. The album came out in 2003, a new one should be done this year.

Another great band, as I said through out this thread. I can't wait for this release.

Another little teaser:

TEASER

Man, I hate it when independent musicians have to work day jobs to get albums finished! I want this album NOW! :)
