I also often think of Motorhead as more a heavy blues band than anything else. Which is surprising because Motorhead is often credited as one of the forefathers of speed/thrash metal and Lemmy does have the dirty rasp of punk-metal. Oh well, doesn't metal often cite blues as an influence anyway?
I'm listening to Inferno right now for the first time on AOL My Music. Overall, very nice and fun record. However, the album just has this annoyingly dated sound that kind of bugs me. Perhaps it's because Motorhead's sound has changed so little since Ace Of Spades (save for the guitars being heavier now). Lemmy also sounds a little tired, though to be fair he always had that lazy/tired sound. Good album nonetheless.
