Try this band Man Must Die:
http://rapidshare.de/files/16284557
They play like tech-melodic death, you may like them.

yeah i don't like The Project Hate as much as I originally did, their album needs to be like 30 minutes shorter since I can't see myself wanting to listen to 70 minutes straight of that.

Pagan's Mind are eh, maybe i'll try listening to them again but all I remember was boring dream theater style prog.

I'll check out Windir, Vintersorg, and Labyrinth =)

I would check out some Linear Sphere, Redemption, Fates Warning...And I see Symphony X is not in your sig so you should listen to them more. Any album will do really.

With Redemption listen to the second album. With FW try Disconnected maybe.

I know you're getting a million names thrown at you, but one more band you should check out is Symbyosis. Great progressive death/black. There is a review review

Symbyosis were Ok. The album I got was godawfully long though, so that kind of turned me off of them. Maybe I'll try listening to them again.

Listening to Behind The Curtain right now, they seem good except their singer's voice might need some getting used too. Reminds me of Roy Khan meets Devon Graves when he sang for Psychotic Waltz or something.

Mirrorthrone - Carriers of Dust
Winds - All (they only have two albums)
Woods of Ypres - Pursuit of The Sun and Allure of The Earth

Dimension F3H is totally cool.

I think I'll just follow you around from now on and check out every band you mention

I used to when I listened to a lot of melodic death metal, but now the only melodeath bands I ever listen to are Arsis and Non-Human Level

Listening to Vintersorg right now, I'm really liking this. It's like all the potential I've heard in other experimental(post?) black metal bands being realized.

Well, I love and have been listening to Ved Buens Ende for a while now, but I'll definitely check out Hades Almighty.

I heard some In The Woods before and it didn't do much for me, but i'm pretty sure it was the album before that one, so I'll check it out. thanksssss

Cheers. Yes the early days of In The Woods... were pretty savage BM but "Omnio" is one amazing pieace of Art! You can get Hades Almighty from www.theendrecords.com for a very decent price same as for In The Woods...

okay listening to them right now and they're pretty good, although for death metal i always tend to have great first impressions but then my interest fades, so we'll se what happens. Symbyosis have some really cool riffs and solos, but not really enough of them and their guitar sound is very lacking in energy. Amoral are good, but too "standard technical death metal" for what I'm looking for.

I'm listening to this band called Axamenta right now, they're like a really cool, proggy Dimmu Borgir.
