Thoughts?

I love this band. I've had “Battering Ram” for a long time, just never got around to listening to it until a couple of months ago. Now I can't get enough of this band. I'm just now hearing the Kai Hansen era Iron Savior. This is becoming one of my favorite bands. They’re aggressive and catchy as hell.

I've not heard much studio stuff by them but i've seen them live and they seemed pretty good, but other then that i don't have much of an opinion.

I like them. Condition Red is a pretty damn solid album. Battering Ram is good aswell. I still need to get their early albums though.

I've got Dark Assault, its really good. Makes me wonder what happened to Piet Sielk in the years between Helloween's Iron Fist years and Iron Savior appearing.

Unification is my favorite. But I'd personally rather listen to Scanner than Iron Savior....at least early Scanner ala Hypertrace

Awesome band. My favorite is Condition Red; I still listen to songs from that on a weekly basis and everytime I listen to the whole release I get blown away. I enjoy their other material as well but that is definitely my favorite. They have very unique vocals and a unique guitar sound. The music itself isn't the most original but the combination of the production sound and vocals make it seem like it is. One of my favorites.

I've been meaning to delve into some Scanner forever... Is Hypertrace all you'd recommend by them, or did they have any other solid stuff?

Np - Iron Savior - Atlantis Falling

Holy shit this song is amazing. Every single album these guys have made is next to brilliant. Like crims said, nothing completely original, but holy balls are they awesome.

Whoa! I just found out that Thomen Stauch used to be in this band back in the early days. After him it looks like Dan Zimmerman (Gamma Ray) took over.

I actually think Time Will Tell is one of the more average tracks on that album. I usually skip it. Cant beat Break The Curse as an absolute best song

You and I are so much alike, but at the same time so different. We like a lot of the same bands, but we have different opinions on what songs are good/bad.

I agree Scion, that song is brilliant.

Hey, its not a bad thing, though

I just feel with TWT, that Iron Savior have done that type of song over and over (particulary the chorus), so i'm over it. Not saying its bad, just that i think its weaker than most of the other songs.
Such as Break The Curse as I already mentioned, Battering Ram, H.M Powered Man, Tyranny Of Steel, Starchaser, etc

I'm not referring to just this though. When you did your review of your top 25 albums of '05 a while back I couldn't believe how much I disagreed with you on certain songs. I mean we both had a lot of the same albums in our top five, we just liked them for different reasons. And you're right, it's not a bad thing, it's just kind of strange.

I can only remember one off hand; Gamma Ray's Majestic. What a brilliant friggin album. The only reason I remember this is b/c I love this album almost as much as Power Plant and Somewhere Out in Space. Anyway, you said the first two songs were disappointing and were leading you to believe the album was going to be a let down. Well, those first two songs are what drew me into the album. Then, once the third track hit I started to get disappointed. Keep in mind this was after my first few listens. Now I like every song on that album. Do you kind of get what I mean? You were drawn into the album in a completely different way than I was, but we both loved that album… in a different way I guess.

I don’t really know how to explain it better. I know there are more examples, I just can’t think of any right now.
