OPETH REISSUE 'GHOST REVERIES' 15/05/06

Epic gloom metallers Opeth are planning a special dvd/cd reissue of 'Ghost Reveries' featuring a 40 minute documentary chronicling the making of the record, behind the scenes tour footage, a cover of Deep Purple's 'Soldier Of Fortune' and the video for 'The Grand Conjuration'. 5.1 surround mix and expanded artwork and liner notes will also be included.

The set is presently now looking at a July 25 release date via Roadrunner.

Good old Roadrunner.

Aren't Making Of's just a few boring shots of the band messing about in the studio? Never really appealed to me...

I kinda blame the bands too.. they knew what Roadrunner methods were when they signed their contract...
and, I'm dead curious to hear what they have done to DP'sSoldier of Fortune too, anybody has it ?

Wow. That's not enough to warrant a second buy. "Making of's" bore the hell out of me. Oh well, it really only hurts the fanboys, I mean if you're stupid enough to re-buy the album for that pathetic line-up of "Extras" you deserve what you get.

I've said it before, when it comes to Roadrunner, download first, buy the reissue (preferable used). Fuck this label.

I love their 25th Anniversary reissues of albums that are, strangely enough, not 25 years old.

My first thought upon finding this out: what in the blue hell....? I don't think anyone would be willing to buy it again just for a making of and a cover.

To anyone who doesnt understand why theres outcry whenever a band signs with Roadrunner, this is why. All they care about is money for fucks sake. Who the fucks re-releases an album that is not even a year old??!?!?!!?!?!

And @ Ken, i loved that one of their re-issues of supposed classic album for the 25th anniverdary was a Coal Chamber cd. bwahahahahahah!

I've heard it... pretty similar to the original. Nothing heavy added, a real lighter-in-the-air one. Not worth rebuying it for at all.

What record company doesn't care about money? I can't think of one.

It's not even a rerelease, it's a special edition, and it was announced back in the day when GR was first released.

However, this episode is definitely an exception to the rule, since the special double cd edition of Nymphetamine was release like 4-5 months after the original one. So, while this time all tyhese rants are a bit out of place, Roadrunner still sucks.
