Another cool Troo Doom band. Ken, pay attention. Vocals are a bit strange at first, but fit in.

New MP3: ON PAIN OF BIRTH

Older MP3: FAR AWAY FROM SUNRISE and HANDS OF DUST

Features ex-Mood members, apparently. If that means anything to anyone other than Lizardtail... :(

Why can't I motivate myself into listening to more trad doom, I wonder. I like everything I hear, then I forget about it completely.

It's definately mood music.

It depends on the band. I'm not always into the slower doom, but bands like Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus are good to go 24/7. The uptempo doom is my favorite.

Agreed with Candlemass, but I find SA very dull. I really have to force a listen, there.

I was exactly this way until very, very recently, until suddenly everything just clicked... I don't know how or why. But ever since the clickage I've listened to very little except for Black Sabbath- a band I was previously indifferent to.

DLing your link now Zad.

Edit: good! :D

I'm going to see Nebula and The Sword on Thursday. Maybe that'll do the trick.

That is strange because it's obvious that Candlemass are one of SA's biggest influences. Have you heard Adagio and Downfall?

According to the Circle Of Turdly Delights (aka: Circle Of True Doom) over at Hellride Music, The Sword are complete pre-packaged corporate shite. A pre-packaged band that released two demos, mind.

I don't really like Adagio. As far as SA are concerned, I'd recommend Downfall, Through The Darkest Hour and especially their superb debut Into The Depths Of Sorrow, which is also their doomiest album. I consider all these albums much better than Adagio, and also much easier to get into.

Downfall is far less doom than the others, it's almost just a heavy metal album. I think Adagio is awesome! Well, I think they're all awesome, so that says nothing, I guess. Hahaha.

Yes, Downfall is less doom, but still awesome. As for Adagio, try as I might, I can't get that much into it. There are a few songs I enjoy a lot though, like Days Of Prayer, The Fall and the kickass cover of Heaven And Hell (which for me is better then the original).

Mcht, they were ok. Some nice soloage, but it got a bit tiresome after a while. Conclusive proof that Doom > Stoner? I would have to say: yes!

Agreed. They're a bit much, and haven't progressed much album to album.
