Well, I didn't consider it a guilty pleasure, but apparently it's a sin to listen to ska, so...

- Big D & The Kids Table
- Streetlight Manifesto
- Buck-O-Nine
- The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
- and my friend's band The Nerd Who Ate St. Louis

I like a little bit of rap/hip-hop too (although I don't know the difference between the two). Immortal Technique, Dälek, Greenjolly, Bushido.

Another band I really need to listen to some more. I own Californication, though it's been a while since I've listened to it. I still need to check out Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Mother's Milk.

Up until recently, Fall Out Boy, but I've cleansed their catchy tunes with a lot of Death Metal. And I've been listening to Rebel Meets Rebel, and this cowboy metal stuff is really enjoyable.

Dälek are fucking awesome. I thought I was the only one that liked them here!

I love RHCP the only album of theirs I would not recommend is Freaky Styley, which was their second album. It has some good songs, but overall its missing something. The two you mentioned are both great albums and you should definately check em out, especially Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

I always found One Hot Minute a bit lacking, maybe I just have a bizarre fear of Dave Navarro. Navarrophobia.

I have the same feeling actually... I think Navarro is better than Frusciante (technically) but he just didn't fit RHCP that fine... Plus Frusciante is a way better composer, singer etc... more of a real artist... 8)

Yeah, I feel Frusciante displays far more of a prescence in his writing and composing. They've always made their best work with him on board. Anyone heard the new album? I haven't yet but always get a sinking feeling whenever I see the words 'double album'

there are a few double albums that were really good :
    - Genesis "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway"
    - The Beatles "White Album"
    - Led Zeppelin "Physical Graffiti"
    - Stevie Wonder "Songs in the Key of Life"
    - Van der Graaf Generator "Present"
    etc...
but most of the times, is it true or fake double albums, it would have been better with just the best song on 1 cd :
    - Guns n' Roses "Appetite for Destruction"
    - Metallica "Load/Reload"
    - Radiohead "Kid Amnesiac"
    etc...

it's the same thing with this new RHCP album, because they're good, indeed, but not that good !

The new album IMO is great, I have heard every song now and there is only one that wasnt all that good. I think they did an amazing job this time around and any fan of old or new RHCP just might like this.

EDIT: One Hot Minute was great. I always notice people talking bad about it, but I love just about all of it except Falling Into Grace. I do however, like Frusciante alot more, more passion in his compositions. I need to get into his solo stuff some more.

Their self-titled debut is one of my favorite rock albums of the 90s. Supervixen, I'm Only Happy When It Rains, As Heaven Is Wide (my favorite), Stupid Girl. All great songs. And Shirley Manson sings circles around her far more popular contemporaries like Britney Spears and J-Lo. I plan on buying Version 2.0 a little later.

I like the debut, but I like Version 2.0 more. I haven't listened to anything they've done since then...
