The first step to open-mindedness?!? WTF? Open-mindedness is not really a goal in itself is it? It of course nice to be able to enjoy different kinds of music on their own merits, and expanding your horizon is important for me, but that does not mean that it is so for everyone else.

Lately there has been some kind of 'open-mindedness contest' going on at MR and frankly it is getting tiring. Suggesting good music that people might not have found otherwise is perfectly alright. It's what we're here for; discovering new fantastic music. Throwing "you are not open minded enough. Now I'll tell you how to work on it" in peoples faces is no better than a grumpy elitist shouting: "Stop whining and listen to teh black metal u pozer"

Open Mind: I understand that you are trying to 'enlighten' people around here, but your current approach is counterproductive. I don't think you mean to be arrogant but your comments certainly come off at the wrong foot.

On topic: This is quite a nice album. Some of the songs are a little to 'stressful' for me, but overall it is very good. Maybe I just need to give it a couple of more listens.

Open-mindedness includes to accept close-mindedness and for sure I have no problem with anyone's taste, no matter how narrow it is from my point of view. I also care shit if anyone dosen't like music that I like. I care a little, if someone doesn't like music for non-musical reasons. However, you are right, I'm not in the position to "enlighten" anyone. If someone doesn't want to try a certain genre because of whatever non-musical reason, then so be it.
The whole thing is not about telling someone the path to open-mindedness, it's about the dubiety of the sellout argument.

Calls for a new thread..

I guess I misread you post (and your intentions) then.. I agree 100 % that dismissing music for non-musical reasons is foolish (that goes for other factors than the sellout argument as well; like politics and religion f.ex.) and the only thing a person accomplishes by doing so is to miss out on some music they might have enjoyed otherwise.

I do believe that sellouts exist, but I see your point.

I think that you are in fact in a position to enlighten someone. Just not on the path to open-mindedness. You seem to have a quite solid musical knowledge and recommendations / samples are more than welcome. Then whoever wants to check them can do so and those who dismiss them before trying can ignore them.. My main point of critique was rhetorical I guess.

Don't like his previous work that much, the mix with classical he does on the Rossz album is so much more interesting!

Was listening to this album on the way into work today. It is great, and maybe the only electronic album I can make room for on my iRiver.

This is the second electronic shit I liked, the other one was Suicide Commando, which is not artsy fartsy like this but more straightforward trippin' industrial electronica, much better than this in atmosphere.

Yes, it's dance music and yes I did once dance like a monkey with brain seizure, chicks dig this shit so fuck you!
