For shits and giggles, cover versus cover. You decide the winner. First up is Iron Maiden's "Hallowed Be Thy Name," covered by Iced Earth and Solitude Aeturnus. Which band will make it to the semi-finals?

SOLITUDE AETURNUS - HALLOWED BE THY NAME vs. ICED EARTH - HALLOWED BE THY NAME

8)

SA for me. I can't stand Iced Earth. Plus SA did a better job.

I like the acoustic feel to Iced Earth's in the beginning, but I think it comes off over-produced and weak in comparison to SA's version. Still a decent cover, though.

Of course, I just really like the IE version. Solitude Aeturnus did a great job but i like what you called the 'over production' on the IE version. On big speakers it sound much fuller and Matt is my favorite vocalist along with Daniel Heiman so i would naturally chose the IE version.

Oh...OK...I guess I'm not seeing where Stefan was saying that. Hehehe. All I see is the red like he's pointing that out. Hehe.

I don't always like Iced Earth, but I think they did a better job here. The OTTness reminds me of Bruce D's voice, and I'm finding it very hard to like SA, they're too dull.

So Iced Earth it is.
