That was a brilliant clip!! Both in terms of suckfest, tasteless music, boringness and pointlessly low tables. This vid probably cost a hundred times the budget for Crast's vid, what a laugh. Now back to Philip Glass.

a lovely pointless movie. Is this supposed to be a black metal video  ?!?!.. looks more like a punk/rap/goth video with lots ov party and pop-girls who has no connection or what so ever to the black metal community.

the worst part is, that this kind of crap is going to get lot's of airtime due to all the mainstream kids who don't know shit. " Wow, the track even has a music video.. that means it's cool and very good.. and ppl would think i'm tough if i told them i liked it"

Satyricon is a great example on why black metal needs to stay in the underground and not in the mainstream. Mainstream black metal and shit walks hands in hands.

EDIT: quote from Roadrunner: " As many of you are probably aware, earlier this month Norwegian Death Metallers, Satyricon, recorded their video for K.I.N.G here in london town...."

wtf?!?

Well, they're as death metal as they're black metal anyway. I'm not even going to watch this video. There's no point.

The video is just very pointless. Nothing we haven't seen any number of times before from more mainstream artists.

I guess KING is really a very poppy song. I hated it the first few times I heard it, and now I find it catchy. Aargh... why do these crappy tracks still find a way into my head?

just listen to it 10 more times, and your head should begin to hate it again once it realize that the track is extremely primitive with three different riffs repeated over and over again... your head will realize the music is no match for your intelligence :D ..

Satyricon is living proof that some bands do sell out; not every style change is "maturing".

WTF IS THIS CRAP!?

I never thought Satyr would come down to this... it's a real shame. The song is absolute shit (not even a bit of BM nor DM in it) and the video is completely retarded.

Satyricon is dead... I can't believe this...

Yeah truly. Volcano was fine but this is just fucking unacceptable.
This new album is St.Anger for Satyricon.

Anyway, this is the only song I've heard off the new one. How does the rest of the album compare? Is it just as commercial?

Well this is by far the shittiest song in the album. But the other ones are just, lame.. I had trouble listening to the album a second time.

The nail in the coffin for me was when I picked up a copy of Kerrang! and Satyricon's new album got a 5K rating. That kills almost anything for me, although they gave Ghost Reveries and Inhuman Rampage high score too which is annoying.
Some reviewer they have must have good taste but is too stupid to keep it too himself so the metal kiddies don't ruin Opeth for me.
Luckily, I don't hink that will ever happen as many people just don't get Opeth.

So Satyricon is dead, but meh...I was never that bigger fan. It was too generic. For good old black metal my favourite is still Immortal, with Dimmu Borgir as my pick of the non-underground ones. It'll be interesting to hear their next album after the orchestral magnificence of Death Cult Armageddon.

I like Dummy Burger too but they haven't released anything close to black metal in years.

You thought Dark Medieval Times was meh?

Hey...i kind of like Demon Bugger, and while death cult wasn't great. i liked puritanical... and enthrone darkness... a lot. I'm not a dedicated black metal fan though so i like their kinda black/prog/symphonic style. although i reckon that to trve black metal fans there is no modern black metal.....just BM which has sold out.
(wow, that last thing sounds like a chuck norris fact)

There are modern black metal bands and Demon Burger is not one of them.
