Not a huge fan of this 'Power metal' lark, but what I've heard I've enjoyed. If I turn up to Bloodstock Open Air this year they're the headliners. Any reccomendations or linkls to songs would be great, plus some info on the bands, whether I'd downright hate them or whatever.

Elements pt1 for Stratovarius, and Vain Glory Opera for Edguy

Visions or Destiny for Strato (avoid their latest s/t), VGO or Hellfire Club for Edguy. Edguy kills live, see them!

last year edguy played and i had heard nothing by them. They were amazing live and i then bought hellfire club, and i can't stand it! it sucks. All i can say is they are soooo much better live then on Cd.

I agree that hellfire club sucks. I can't stand the damn think for very long. I've heard Rocket Ride and I can say I like it a lot more, although im not a huge Edguy fan.

Try Visions and Infinite by Strato and Vain Glory Opera, Theater Of Salvation and Mandrake by Edguy.

for Stratovarius I can't say, but for Edguy get Rocket Ride and Burning Down The Opera live.

Listen to Rocket Ride because they will be playing stuff from it live, but its their worst/second worst album.

Rocket Ride or the debut (where the ideas were cool but the songwriting was pretty unpolished).

For Stratovarius I have Fright Night Through Elements part I. I think Visions is the best....but I definately like some songs from each of the albums....not so much the newer ones though....actually after Visions I don't really give a fuck about.

Edguy I have Theatre of Salvation. I've heard the rest though....and the new ones are the worst to me....I can't even take them seriously....Theatre of Salvation was cool when I first started listening to heavy metal...but now its just really boring.

It's Savage Poetry.

Sort of. Savage Poetry is really just a full-length demo with Kingdom of Madness being the proper debut (it was KoM I was refering to in any case).

Vain Glory Opera is better than TOS, imo.

And what's wrong with Kingdom of Madness?
