Yeah, Vehemence, Nile, The Chasm, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Deicide, chunks of the Bay Area, Rellik, Fleshgrind, Cianide, and almost all the brutal bands I mentioned (Cinerary broke up to form Brodequin and Liturgy) are still active. TODAY, I still think those mentioned, and their scenes, make up the best damn scene around. We have it all. STILL. CC, MA, Deicide and the whole Bay Area is a shadow of their former glory. The guys in The Chasm are actually Mexican and Vehemence took a step down with their last album, hardcore-ising their music. That's what I think. Bullshit. CC is fine, Morbid Angel is great, even now, and debate me all you want on that, they're still GREAT. Deicide.. and VITAL REMAINS for that matter are unstoppable. Deicides last one was as good as Once upon the Cross. The Chasm are actually Mexican?! OMG WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME? Oh, right, because they came to the US, specifically Chicago because the metal scene here is fucking awesome, and a true oppertunity. They came here for a reason, and they released their BEST shit in Chicago, and that's where they've been for over half their discog. Rellik is, in my opinion, releasing more entertaining shit than either Vader OR Behemoth (their main influence) released with their latest efforts. Cianide is kicking it oldschool. And our brutal scene is unstoppable. Don't step, World, you'll get mashed. The US has it covered. That's what I think. Yeah, I get it. You're just being a fanboy about it so there's no point in arguing. I'll just say that there are no Legions or Altars of Madnesses coming from there any more. European Death metal owns US death metal. STFU, bitch. You proved my point, because Alter's wasn't their best. Not in my mind. And not in the minds of many I've met in my travels. HAH, if anything, Alters was just a novelty compared to BATS, and Covenant... Besides, I love the more experimental stuff they've been doing. Just because it doesn't sound (but actually it really does~!) like older material doesn't mean it's not solid. If you knew the Morbid Angel philosophy, you'd give it a shot. Now, you make me question whether you've even heard anything by them beyond Alters. Hail Heretic, and I gladly await their next album. Deicide repeated Legion's quality on Scars, and that's my opinion. They had a low point since Once upon..., and I was stunned by the comeback they made with Scars. But, yeah, whatever. I must be a fanboy because the oldschool heroes who still do it awesome are in my collection. Either that, or I know my shit and have a free mind. Bah, you're hopeless. I just threw in two examples and somehow you got the impression that I didn't like Bats and Covenant and haven't heard anything post Altars. Jeezez. (it doesn't change anything if you like them better, Altars is their classic album and I've heard everything by them and Heretic fucking blows)
That an opinion, and it's fair. You called me a fanboy, twat waffle, and on stupid grounds. Oh, I like them because they were first. Yeah, okay. I don't know your motive, but it was BS anyway because I respect the whole scene, but it's hit and miss everywhere. US is still strong, nostalgia is a weapon against satisfaction, and I'm done, except for posting more bands for the sake of making our current greats more obvious.
Bye.
