It's just you. This week was great. Fucking Fields of the Nephilim are back? I'd never even suspected it.

Well, this week there were not so many reviews of records I'm that interested in. So for me it's not the standard of reviews, but the interest generated by the selected records that varies week to week.

I guess the current reviewers I look out for are Misha and Dee, and Dogan if he gets the job. No offence at all to the other guys- I just like the way Dee and Dogan are "specialised" into very esoteric areas that I want to read about. And I like Misha's unpredictability.

I don't agree. I think there is a great group of reviewers here (when they review) and you get a good balance of music. I reviewed a CD that I've had for a while this week simply because I had nothing new to review. I have a few CDs that are new, but I've not given them enough listens to do a review. So instead of not doing one, I uploaded that review.

I don't want to specialize in any one genre. I want to simply review interesting albums and I think I've done that, though some of the genres have turned people off, unfortunately.

I think this week is just a case of bad timing - two industrial albums in the same week and lots of hard rock. I'm sure next week will involve a little more extreme metal.

Im not making any comment about the standard of reviews, it just seems that i go to the reviews every week and its all hard rock or power metal or gothic or industrial. I realise the stupidity of whinging just because what i like isnt getting reviewed, but where has all the extreme metal gone? It seems some genres are being neglected.

Also, just an inquiry, how much do you guys get sent? Are you mostly picking what you want to review? And wheres Misha been? His reviews were excellent, and always surprising.
