IMO their debut is easily their best. All songs are classics on that one. No weak songs.

Killers is ok, but compared to their debut just a weak extract.

Number of the Beast is way overrated: I'm not really charmed by songs like Invaders, the Prisoner and Gangland. They're just too "happy".
It holds Hallowed be thy Name and for that song alone it's worth purchasing the whole album.

Piece of Mind has some really great songs (Revelations, Icarus, and the TROOPER). Excellent album.

I never understood the worhshipping of Powerslave. Compared with the other 6 albums the weakest after Killers.

I really like Somewhere in Time. Somewhat polished production, but some strong songwriting. I've played The Loneliness of the long distance runner countless times.

Seventh Son is a very balanced CD, but kinda dull. Nothing really stands out.

The two CD's with Blaze are the worst albums Maiden ever made. The bottleneck is the terrible songwriting with those endless repeating choruses. A problem with all later releases.

The debut is pretty good, but not their best. In the top 5 for sure. Killers only has 3 good songs the rest IMO are dull.
NOTB has majority of good songs, but with around 2 fillers.

Piece of Mind is also like NOTB, all tracks are decent, with just 2 which stand out (Icarus and The Trooper). Powerslave is great. Please dont tell me you dont like Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnight, the title track and Rime Of The Ancient Mariner....

Somewhere in Time is almost flawless with just your favourite Time track, IMO is one of my worst Maiden songs (Lonliness Of The Long Distance Runner). 7th son is just overall very consistent with all tracks being very good.

Here we have another Blaze-hater. Shame on you. I dont understand what you mean by "bottleneck" so please explain. But X-Factor has no repedative chorus'. I'll admit 2 tracks from Virtual XI does, but if that is all that is turning you off that album, well i think thats rather silly. X-Factor and Virtual XI together, beat the following Maiden albums

Dance Of Death
Brave New World
Fear Of The Dark
No Prayer For The Dying
Killers

And they stand their ground with Piece Of Mind, NOTB and their debut.

Sorry to repeat myself from my earlier posts talking about the Blaze-era Maiden albums, but we Blaze lovers need to defend those great 2 albums...

I will say that the X Factor is a great album; definitely beats out Fear of the Dark, No Prayer for the Dying and to a lesser extent Dance of Death. But there is no way that it compares to any of the classic 7 or Brave New World... And whats with all the Killers hate?

I actually didn't realise just how good Killers was until recently. shame on me. I think the biggest problem I always had was that like three or four of the songs have very similar/samey lyrics.

The X-Factor is one of the best maiden albums for sure, and Virtual eleven is up there somewhere too. Just listen to tracks like "The Aftermath", "Look for the Truth", "Judgement of Heaven", "Como Estais Amigo"...hell all tracks on those two albums rock.

Ya.. I'm going to pass on this one. Virtual XI is a complete piece of shit, with the exception of The Clansman. As Ultra Boris so eloquently put it: "The choruses are too fucking repetitive. The choruses are too fucking repetitive. The choruses are too fucking repetitive. The choruses are too fucking repetitive." Mixed with bad songwriting, and we have a bad album.

Radagast: Ya, Killers took a bit longer for me to get into than the other Maiden albums, but now its ony of my favourites. Complete awesomeness.

What's to explain? It's just my opinion:

I just miss the magic in X-Factor and Virtual XI as displayed in Maiden's first 7 albums. Perhaps nothing to do with Blaze.
The same holds for NPFTD, FOTD, BNW and DOD. Those albums are just faint reminders of their first legendary albums. DOD shows some sparks of the past though.

By the way, what about:" Your time will come, your time will come, your time will come, your time will come,etc,etc..."

"A Brave new world, in a brave new world,a brave new world,in a brave new world, in a brave new world, a brave new world,etc,etc..."

"No more lies, no more lies, no more lies, no more lies, no more lies, no more lies,NO MORE LIES!!!!"

BNW and DOD are no fuckin way better than Virtual XI, imo...

Yes, BNW and DOD do have some repetitive choruses. But it never gets to the extreme amount that it does on Virtual XI (see: The Angel and the Gambler). And whereas BNW and DoD have good to competent songwriting, Virtual XI is uninspired crap nearly the whole way through.

As much as i respect you , i have to disagree. Anyway, my opinion is subjective, since i really hate Dickinson.

Yeah. French hygiene, for example, is already pretty primitive.

Is it just you, or is this getting retarded?
