NSBM

You can drop the NS from that, black metal is completely forgotten in this site.

Funny that when a black metal CD, or anything that's a sort of black metal hybrid (blackened viking metal, etc.), or even a death metal CD is reviewed most everyone ignores it, especially YOU (go back and look), Kaatharian. But, Misha reviews an album in a style (shoegaze) that you have to look up to see what the fuck it means, you're all over it.

Too often the complaints here are just ridiculous. I've been reading the complaints about black metal not being reviewed here for the entire time I've been here, yet black metal is largely ignored when it is reviewed.

So I think it's one of two things. One, people would rather just bitch and whine for the sake of bitching and whining, or two, it's a popularity contest and those reviewing these black metal/death metal albums aren't you favorite reviewers, which is lame, of course.

I'd appreciate it. This place needs some more BM. Daniel is doing a wonderful job, but he can only write that many reviews at a time. And i'd say you have a pretty good grasp of modern BM, at least.

And, yeah, bring on the NSBM! (big time emphasis on the smilie!)

Sorry, guys, but your grammar and spelling needs to be good if you're going to write reviews. That's just ridiculous. No offense to you, Kaath.

No. I'm not a fan of black metal hybrid bands, that's why I ignore them. I don't like Falkenbach or anything alike, what this site needs is coverage of the big albums coming in black metal. Darkthrone is the biggest name in black metal right now and even that album didn't get a review, which is a bad thing in my opinion. That's why I offered myself for the job.

And you're right about the grammar and spelling thing, obviously if I were to become a reviewer I'd be very careful about it. But English isn't my native language, that's why I'm saying there might be some errors.

Well, did Darkthrone send us an album? I know I wouldn't buy it.

I'm sure they send their albums to no one. I'm not saying you should have done it but the extreme metal reviewers missed it too. They should just let me become a reviewer, this argument will be pointless then.

Well, maybe the extreme reviewers don't own it or can't find it?

Then we should have a reviewer who can find it.

If my local Hasting's out here in the sticks of Texas has it, anybody can find it. They have better distribution than most BM bands.

To be honest, when I was stationed in Little Rock, AR, Hastings had one of the best metal sections I've ever seen, in fact, they not only had a metal section, but a death metal section!

@ Eyesore: Blackened Viking Metal =/= Black Metal. What we need is not black metal hybrids; it's black metal. There is a huge difference. I like a lot of post-black and folk-black so the tr00ness factor is not the issue, but from my perspective 'blackened' is not black enough, and most socalled 'viking metal' iz da sux..

It is fair enough that none of the present reviewers like the genre, have the time to do the reviews or are focusing on other genres. In that case a new reviewer on that field is quite appropriate methinks.

What? I'm not the best reviewer for black metal; death metal is more my forte. Kathaarian would be much better suited for black than I.
