Damn, another great band on the rise. It's Jens Carlsson behind the mic and sounds even more heavy than Persuader. They're about to release an album and based on the single it will kick ass. On their site link you can find the 2 song single for free download.

Here it is for the lazy ones:Northern Sky Single
Enjoy

I have to agree. This single kicks so much ass. I like the heavy direction they are taking. Power metal needs some heavier bands.

This band sounds promising but I hear the influences too much when I listen to the two songs. Didn't like the growls either, but thats just me.

What do you think the influences are ? It sounds to me kinda like Brainstorm.

Yeah the growls aren't the best thing here. Actually when I was listening Persuader I expected Jens to switch to some low-pitch growls. Fortunately it didn't happen and it's clear on Dark Empire he needs some more practise...is that him doing the growls btw.

Well yeah basically Brainstorm, Rage, Symphony X, Children of Bodom, Blind Guardian etc...Good influences I give them that, but they should focus more on developing their own sound. There isn't enough distinctiveness to the music.

I thought Matt Moliti, the guitarplayer, did the growling but im not sure.

Ha ha, and it was staring me in the face. D'oh. Well, the first song is pretty cool. Keyboards are a bit weird, but still quite cool.

I liked them, especially the "Northern Sky" track. They manage to combine heavy riffing with more melodic european influences and the heavy a-la Guardian vocals in a catchy ensemble.

I ordered it from CD Inzane and let me say: this is indeed a killer album. My only complaint was that it is very short at only 6 tracks and about 36 minutes. I actually liked the growls. They fit in nicely with the song, I thought.

There will be a review for this very soon, hopefully this week. I've known MAtt since PP V and have followed the making of this album and everything closely for the past year. I'm proud of him and Noah for their work. Keep in mind this is an ENTIRELY self financed release and if you had the finished product in your hands you would be taken aback at how complete the package is. Fucking excellent material.

BTW Jens only does the growls on Northern Sky, for the rest of the album Matt does the death vox,

Great, looking forward to the review. This album is the surprise of the year for me. I didn't expected it to be that good.

Too bad there's only 6 songs on the CD, but I understand the album was self financed and the resulting limitations . The sound clips really impressed me, so I'll still pick this one up. Quite impressive.

When I say growls for the rest of the album I mean two songs Distant Tides and A Soul Divided.
