As true metalheads we are, we know what metal truly is, put bluntly. If DM were to become empty, commercial shit, which some of it already has, we, as actual metalheads, would be able to notice this change in mainstream media, and be able to distinguish between the shit and reality. Yet, I do agree that I would frustate me for some emo whoreson fuck to try to tell me what metal is, seeing as he would suddenly see himself as such an authority.

But, yeah, some DM already is commercialized mainstream shit, yet there remains a percentage of it that is not, and we, as actual metalheads, would be able to distinguish between them.

Fuck that!!! if metal became main stream it would be like this emo shit where the kids have uniform individuality, and seeming don't realise they're all the same! it would take away the heart and soul of metal! i don't think i could listen to metal knowing that retards with no musical knowlegde are listening to kiss arse bands! i would have to re-think my whole fucking life!!! If metal would become mainstream, i wouldn't give a fuck.

The way i see it, there have always been posers. Poison and other poodlehaired girly-men in the 80's and un-metal in the 90's. Now we have this thing with emo kids ripping off swede-death riffs called metalcore. I just ignore that bullshit.

And let's not confuse being popular with being a poser. Iron Maiden are known all over the world, and selling a shitload of concert tickets, but are they posers? Hell no!

I hate those bastards who bash CC because of their 'popularity' it's music which is brutal as hell AND awesome. But yeah, if it became popular I'd still love it, just be more apprehensive about new bands, new albums and attending gigs.

Yeah, even though I never really liked CC it had nothing to do with their popularity. Death metal (again not counting melodeath) is by nature not going to appeal to many people.
