blame me, I'm curious... so before I criticize something I listen to it first (something you should more regularily do :P )... and, well, Babyshambles is not that good despite what some friends said to me but I like the Libertines (some of it) and really enjoy the first Dirty Pretty Things single... so, why not trying it ? plus, I think there are more shocking things on my least for you, like :
Adam Green
Regina Spektor
Cocorosie
Belle and Sebastian
etc...
8)

:P back. Some Libertines is alright, as you said, although I hate to credit Pete Doherty with anything. Babyshambles are awful.

As for the B&S etc, that's your choice, and I can see why you'd like them, but not much excuse for listening to Babyshambles.

"Don't look back into the sun" is a great song. It strikes me as being incredibly profound, but maybe that's just fluke, or overanalysis on my part.

Or the huge amounts of cocaine Doherty imbibed?

lol at GWAR. I find them irresistible and listen to them too much. Ah, I guess there's nothing much obscure this week.. Can's a psychedelic krautrock band from the 70s and Witch Mountain are stoner rock. fin.

KMFDM on your list and INFADELS on mine are more embarrassing, don't you think ?

and I also have Marillion, The Kooks, Metallica, Yeah Yeah Yeahs & The Dead 60's... and you point out the Arctic Monkeys only (whose only fault is their media exposure since it's a good little rock'n'roll band, fun listening too...) ?
you damn elitist :P

1) I don't watch much TV or listen to much radio so I had to check them out for myself. therefore I can't agree that the Arctic Monkeys are good and/or fun. although I can agree that there's a very good cynical marketing-style reason for them being more popular than 9,999 other garage bands.. :P

2) If I called you out on Marillion or your indie bands you'd call me out on IQ and mine..

3) Who the hell are Infadels?

Premiata Forneria Marconi = italian symphonic prog.. Art Zoyd = drumless chamber/prog, or at other times industrial/ambient movie scores.. Neu! = some sort of kraftwerk-ish ultra-minimal kraut-rock..

ps: playlists full of prog rock are actually very doomy indeed
