Blind Guardian - A Night At The Opera

The only Kamelot CD in my place of purchase (the new one) was priced ridiculously, so I went for this! NP, not as bad as I feared. :D

£6.99

3 for £18.

I got some Meshuggah and Zappa with it. Not a bad haul! Is ANATO a good place to start? (too late now!)

It's quite...not sure of the word, but I'm enjoying it immensely!

Oh well, you're weird.

None of the previous albums sound like it, but I'd suggest Nightfall In Middle-Earth as your next stop.

No, its one of those marmite albums.

The fact that you don't have a previous expectation of the way Guardian should sound probably helps it.

I heard some tracks off their first album, more heavy metally, and so this was rather a suprise. I'm digging it, though, and have no idea why, a few months back I'd have hated this.

I like ANATO quite a bit but my favorite BG album is Tales from the Twilight World. It's more speed metallish.

I just bought:
Motorhead - Ace of Spades
Fates Warning - Awaken the Guardian

i strongly disagree with more speed, it's more epic and 'opera' than previous albums but speed, no! Their first releases were the fastest because they were more thrashier

I was referring to TFTW as being more speed metallish. Sorry if that was confusing.

That's when you know you have to stop, you've forgotten what you own! I can't imagine doing that.

It's a great album, just more symphonic than previous albums, but not really that different from the Nightfall In Middle Earth. You could hear the band starting to incorporate the symphonic in 1992 on Somewhere Far Beyond. Great album, don't listen to these guys! =)

Seriously. I've done it at least 5 times. The problem is that I see a bargain and instantly think, "SWEET!!" Then I'm like, "Do I own this?" but my brain can't process the thought because of the sweet deal! Hahaha. I need to get a Blackberry or something that can store my music collection. I can just carry that around with me.
