Wow. Joey made an arse of himself when he should've just told the guy to go fuck off.

"Joey: "I know, but when our fans pay good money..."

Götz: ...to hear songs, not a soundcheck!

Joey: "...and I can't hear what I'm playing on stage and give the fans the best possible performance, I owe it to them to fix the problem. I'm a professional."

Götz: But the sound wasn't any better afterwards! You wasted valuable time.

Joey: "No, I didn't. I did my best to solve the problem. Okay?"

Götz: I believe you wanted to show that you had absolute control over everything.

Joey: "No, I wanted to show the fans that they're more important to me than my own life. And if I have to do a soundcheck to prove it, that's what I'll do. I don't play with instruments that are out of tune, I don't play with bad equipment and I don't play with bad sound. I did soundcheck on stage for two hours just so we could play one song perfectly. If people don't like it that's not my fucking problem."

Honestly, look at the section in bold - what the fuck is that about?

I would have stabbed that Gotz fella in the kidney with a spork. Maybe he's just spoiled by all of the Metalcore acts playing out of tune, so he expects it from all bands now.

"Are you ready to be sporked for Metal?"

As I read that, I was thinking, "What the fuck dude, it's just a soundcheck, give the guy a break." Then I read the part where it was two hours. What a fucking knob.

Yeah! More idiocy from our good buddies at A7X!

M. SHADOWS: "When you go to our live show, it's a full-on heavy metal show, and we don't need — I mean, no offense to 10-year-old and 11-year-old little girls, [but] they're not going to understand the experience," he said.

Hahahaha. 10 and 11-year old girls are their fanbase!

Something tells me this thread will be going for a long, long time.

This is clearly a single-celled organism we are dealing with here, that hasn't yet evolved to the point of rational thought. Or any thought at all for that matter.

What amazes me is the band, in three albums, has gone from screamo hardcore to metalcore to fluffy psuedo-paint-by-numbers metal, yet they're "full-on metal"? Hahahaha.

I thought about posting that little snippet earlier, but I didn't think it quite scaled the heights of the previous efforts.

Still worth it for the sake of posterity - imagine how long this thread will be in a couple of years? Hell, we can use it as their epitaph when they eventually go their seperate ways.

Here lies Avenged 'A7X' Sevenfold
"Said a bunch of stupid shit"

I doesn't end!! Here's more from that interview, but first a disclaimer from M. Shadows:

M. Shadows wants to set the record straight so there's no confusion: Avenged Sevenfold are a heavy metal band.

And now something completely differe...the same:

"We want our shows to be respectable heavy metal shows. We're a rock and roll band, and we want kids to know that."

"It's a rock record. This is what Avenged Sevenfold is about. It's not a radio-driven band..."

"...for the kids that get the record, and get the whole record — not just the poppy chorus..."

 Hahahaha. WTF? M. Shadows on Metallica and Guns 'N Roses:

"I feel we're the ones that are going to come up and take those bands' place when they're not doing it anymore."

G'nR hasn't been doing shit for how long now? Haha. On Ozzfest:

"It would be cool to be a traditional metal band on a tour that has, what, Disturbed on it? We'll just have to see what happens."

If I ever meet these guys, I'm going to smack them all!

Well compared to Disturbed they are musical virtuosos

except their singer, holy shit he fucking sucks cock, my god they should fire him and then rip his tongue out, cut it into tiny pieces and then light it on fire, before pouring acid on it and down his vocal chords, which they should then make a throat shaped cheesegrater for. Then staple his throat shut so that another noise can never come out of it, then breaks his legs and lock him in a cage, nail his eyeballs to the bars and then slowly break each and every bone in his hands. Then throw the cage down a deep, dark hole. That way on the off chance that the staple comes loose and a noise does escape his throat, no human being will be nearby to hear it. Seriously I'd rather masturbate with rough grade sandpaper covered in heroin, sulphuric acid and extract of AIDS than ever hear his voice again.

Woah, that's just too fucking much, even for a guy who calls himself something stupid like M. Shadows.

It's really ridiculous. He's contradicting himself because it's not something he believes in. He can't keep his story straight.

I like Avenged Sevenfold, remember? I hate the members and have resolved to steal every album they release post-City of Evil, but I like the music.

It never ends:

Quote:
David Glessner of the San Antonio Express-News recently conducted an interview with AVENGED SEVENFOLD drummer The Rev. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:

On the band's reputation as party animals:

"I actually blame the press. I personally try not to talk about it. We've done some fly-on-the-wall (interviews) where the reporter follows us around and reports about what's going on, but it's not important in my opinion."

"You can have a drink after a show, but I'll never do anything before a show except warm up for an hour. We're perfectionists when it comes to the live performance, because that's what it's all about, ya know?"

On including orchestrated strings, flamenco guitar and choir vocals on the group's new album, "City of Evil":

"The string section came in and they were really professional. They came in, read the (music) and knocked it out. It was problematic with the boys' choir. We had to fire the first one because they sucked. It's hard to fire little (expletive) kids, because they cry and stuff. All the other orchestration and Moroccan stuff is pretty easy to program."

On catching favorable props from their rock idols:

"METALLICA came to one of our shows, and it was amazing. They were my favorite band when I was growing up. We're playing some dates with them in Europe in June. They said they were big fans of the music and didn't give a (care) what we looked like. Mike Portnoy, who is DREAM THEATER's drummer, said he was thrown off by our image but really liked us once he heard us.

"And I got a big compliment from (RUSH drummer) Neil Peart, who said something like I was one of the best working drummers today."

What? What the hell does that have to do with anything?

I'd cry to if I was being forced to be on an Avenged Sevenfold album.

I'm sure Neil was drunk.

Hmmm...I actually found the drummer to sound far more intelligent than the rest of the band.
