I'm from a small country in eastern europe, but I'm just wondering how many of your cd's have you actually bought instead of borrowed and copied of a friend or downloaded from the internet. How much do death metal albums averagely cost...so how much is spent on your listening pleasure!

As for the cost, it varies. I try to buy stuff used when I can (or very, very new at Newbury Comics, where they mark the price of new stuff down) so generally between five and ten dollars.

I have a great lot of burned cds from various sources, which I'm slowly replacing with the real thing.

Albums are too fucking expensive so I can't really buy anymore. I'll buy all of my favourites eventually but to buy everything I like I would probably need to win the fucking lottery or something.

I've got a couple of hundred real CDs, probably as many CDRs or just slightly more. If I see one I like that I've already downloaded/copied going for cheap enough I'll buy it anyway.

Here (the UK) new CDs usually cost around £15 (around 26 US dollars), but you I mostly buy second hand for between £5 and £8, or new from the 'net for between £9 and £13.

If you go hunting for rare items and original pressings like I do, be prepared to pay a VERY pretty penny. Then again, alot of the stuff I like is still on the first pressing. But, Thrash, most Grind, and Black Metal, as well as favorable Old School Death metal I've always had to pay a little extra for.

On the other hand, I live very near Metal Haven in Chicago. Some items they sell for MORE money, but some, like Baptism's Wisdom and Hate. 15$!!!!!

But, Atheist's Piece of Time? 40$.

Anyway, I've never gotten an album I truly wanted for less than 10.

I've spent ALOT on music in the past several years especially. I wouldn't feel comfortable even giving a ballpark.

almost nothing. last album i bought was Pantera's Vulgar Display Of Power 2nd hand (10$) when i went to the USA.

though of course, when i start earning my own money i'll spend more on music, and i want to eventually pay back the bands that have given me so much pleasure.

I've got around 300 cds or so, 80% of them are originals, and the remaining CDrs I'm attempting to buy.

I usually order my CDs online, but I'd figure I spend everything from $5->$20 on a CD.

I also have a policy that I'd say I adhere to 70% of the time whereby I don't rip off the small-time bands that I really like. HammerFall don't really need my £15, but Falconer just might.

I have closing in on 500 actual CD's, and probaly about 150 CDr's. I do try to buy the actual music whenever possible, but you got to eat and pay bills too.

I try to buy used, and eBay is a major source of my music buying. I try to pay inbetween $5-$15 for a CD. Anymore than that and it better be excellent if you expect me to plunk my hard-earned money down for it. Actually, if it wasn't for shipping charges, a lot of my eBaying would be under $4 per CD. Can't get much better than that.

I own close to 5,000 CDs. I don't even want to think about how much I paid to get that many!

The mustaine-signal illuminates the clouds, drawing attention from the black-clad figure that leaps so ably between rooftops. But for the swish of a cape and a grunt of effort, no-one could have perceived his passing.

A ginger hair glides easily on the passing air currents, tumbling like a feather through the sky.

"Mark my words," says Kathaarian to the wreckage of his burnt-out flat, "someone will meet their reckoning tonight."

You should write a book, about me.

Are cd-rs burnt cds? If so, I ahve 2 cd-rs. I lost the other 34 I had because of an unfortunate accident which occured during a big clean of the house.

I only have (I think) 48 cds, but I do my best to buy as many as I can-I like having the real thing and it's where enarly all my money goes. (Recently anyway, I've started buying around 5 a month if I can)

aw someone has a crush. :P

I spent about $1300 in 05' on CDs which is about 10% of my income. (shhh don't tell my wife) and I get a few every week. I absolutely refuse to burn entire albums. I have just over 100 now, but there have been many that I gave away or threw out.

I try to adhere to a pretty strick policy of one album per week with a $25.00 (cdn) budget. With a couple of solid $100 binges when I go to Toronto... I guess that means Im dropping about $1400 yearly.

The moral of this story is that I should really start downloading more... but I just like having the physical CD's in hand. I like the jacket... I like supporting the bands... I work in the video games industry, so I might be a little jaded towards piracy.

I have about 460 metal albums, including 98 from Swedish bands and 77 from Norwegian bands. Yes...I categorized them all by country.
