Sloping Altars MP3

Yeah, add some mind-fuckin' keyboards and you'll have it. It is actually interesting I might add. Very Philosophical lyrics about space and time.

Which Deathspell Omega or Drudkh album would you most suggest?

Thanks for the reccomendations.

Drudkh - Autumn Aurora (Don't make me start shouting again :D )

Deathspell Omega - Si Monvmentvm...

Amen

Once you get a Drudkh album, you will have all of them: That is A Fact.

Yeah.. Drudkh is some of the finest black metal out there..

By the way. If you have just been listening to Drudkh and catch yourself thinking: "This approach to BM is stellar! But now I could go for something a little more brutal"
Buy Hate Forest - Purity and Astrofaes - ... Those Whose Past is Immortal

On second thought: Just buy them now..

Yes . I actually forgot them, How Foolish of me!
BTW, Crast mentioned a few good bands among them, Belphegor ( I have a Vinyl of that album :D ) and Vital Remains.

Well, that MP3's from their first album. The philosophical stuff's more on Worlds Beyond The Veil, their second, which has samples at their site.

Heavy, very heavy. Brutal all the way through, with a few synth interludes to split things up. Less k/boards than on second (so I hear, have only got the first...). Kickass, completely.

More songs from it: Wrath Of God
Vae Solis
Check 'em, and the other one out.

try Origin, Quo Vadis, Cryptopsy, Dodheimsgard (the O has a / across it i think), Fleurety, Gojira, Klabautamann, The Meads Of Asphodel...

there's black and death there.

I've read reviews of some of these bands, and I feel as if they would be very digable.

I'm looking for something that puts emphasis on meaning, and feeling, yet maintains riffery and brutality. Not to say at all that any of these suggestions are bad ones, because I take your words for it and I'm sure they kick ass, but is there anything that stands out as philosophical, or impractical?

Thanks again for all of the reccomendations.

Check the Mithras I put up, pretty much what you said there. Also, check the Meads Of Asphodel out, they've got their own thread in this forum...

They work fine here. Have you got Window's Media Player?

Yes, but I'm not sure it is just that my computer is defunct or very slow.

Everyone's always talking about Drudkh! But I can't find samples or anything anywhere. Can anyone upload or song or something?

Hmmm. If you're looking for something impratical, try Abruptum. Any of them. It's a side project of Evil from Marduk. It sounds nothing like Marduk though. It is definetely impratical to say the least, but unbelievabaly awesome as well. Another side-project from the Marduk boys is Opthalamlia. Get the Via dolorosa album, where brutal Black Metal and beautiful melodies dance together in infernal goodness.

I'm also a big fan of the (American) Black Funeral. Vampyr-Throne of the Beast is excellent. It is kind of standard fare, but he does have his own sound. They do Black Ambient on Moon of Characith. I dig it, but if Black Ambient isn't your thing, don't bother with it.

Deathspell Omega are kings. Get something from them now, you won't regret it.

Nocturnus is a really good, out of the box Death Metal band that gets far less credit than they should.

Erm, I do believe that both Abruptum and Ophthalamia both have IT as thier mastermind. IT has never played in Marduk. '

"Evil" (Morgan from Marduk) worked with IT on the Abruptum albums, but had nothing to do with Ophthalamia.

Abruptum I find very hard to get into. Ambient noise/black I guess it would be called.

Ophthalamia on the other hand are fucking awsome. "Via Dolorosa" is a masterpiece that few can compete with.

So, everyone should go listen to Ophthalamia now. I DEMAND IT!

.:crast:.
