I really like melodic death metal and already listen to In Flames, Arch Enemy, At The Gates, Dark Tranquility, Darkane, Dimension Zero, Gardenian, Nightrage, Scar Symmetry, Soilwork, Suidakra, Withering Surface, Callenish Circle, Chain Collector, Corporation 187, Diablo, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Mors Principium Est, Naildown, Sins of Omission, The Duskfall, Sonic Syndicate.

Please recommend more bands in the same vein.

Melodic, but a bit more old school style...

Edge of Sanity
Dismember
Unanimated
Gates of Ishtar

and naturally:

Canopy

You know I'd recommend you to stick with the bands you've discovered so far and check those melo-death bands that get a score of 90 and above on MR. That way the chances for stumbling on something boring and dull decreases...slightly. I know that's what I'm doing from now on.

I like this genre a lot but I've found plenty of rotten apples in it that are spectacular at first but quickly get real bad. Those I can think of right now that you haven't listed...

Edge Of Sanity - classic
Imperanon - good but quickly get boring (CoB worship)
Disarmonia Mundi - their "Fragments..." album was good for a Soilwork clone.
Kalmah - I've recently started with them with their latest The Black Waltz. Quite good, definitely recommended.
Node - Das Kapital was OK.
Omnium Gatherum - not a fan but they're ok too.
Raintime - Tales From Sadness... try it, it's more power metal tho.
Skyfire - I liked this at first but the damn keyboard overdose was too much at times.
Throne Of Chaos - Menace and Prayer... only their first album is melodic death. Good in the "better than the latest CoB album" style.

How about The Haunted? They're Thrash/Death though but still very good! :D

Always a pleasure.

Suidakra aren't melodeath. The Haunted suck. I stand by these statements.

Yeah, I 3rd that opinion. The Haunted are quite dull.

Wintersun are awesome. And you should try late Carcass, that's the peak of the genre. Not really into it, otherwise...

Wintersun, as my friend Zad said. Insomnium was (is) one my fav bands too, I think you will find them interesting. It's very Melodic, Heavy and Melochonic. Do not dare to forget Amon Amarth!

Would you really call Wintersun melodic death metal? It sounds more like extreme/epic/folk power.

It's close enough, and even if not trve melodeath, they should like it...

Yes, true. But it can still relate and even much better, would not you agree?

True, and it is something I could see a melodeath fan liking.

Now I want to listen to Wintersun. :(
