Go for Nile surely, but you have to hear Mastodon - Leviathan at some point.

I dare. Offspring rules. Ignition, Smash, Ixnay, and Americana all kick ass. As far as I'm concerned, it ain't punk, it's just fucking fun. FUN. YAY! But, so is brutal death metal.

It's punk and it's excellent. They write one stupid song for hit single purposes per album. It works. I love that band.

Your selection of a song to mock really makes me think you've never heard the whole thing. But, then again, it's better than you shitting all over the rest of the album, where the goodness is. That'd be blasphemy.

I like the goofy song, lyrically they're dumb as hell, but they're still good. This is a good punk band. Yes, PUNK. Not sure how anyone can call them anything but.

Sorry but i hate offspring especially Americana. Old stuff like ignition is fun like you said though.
But its not musical madness.
If i had to choose between fun and musical madness, ill choose the 2nd one.
I want to fuck my brain when i listen to music not relax myself.

I meant to say, "I dare :P ," didn't wanna make it seem as "defiant" as it ended up looking. Although, "Fuck (your) brain?" I dunno man... Doesn't the brutal shit relax you, too? Sometimes it's exciting, but usually, it's more of a release of stress for me. Like an exotic vacation that become a permanent living arrangement because it was too intoxicating to leave. LOL, it's all fun, otherwise I don't see a point in listening to it.

I admire your mind's will to open.

Yeah in a way in the end it is relaxing, but usually for this kind of music i am more concentrated cause there are like 1000000 things going on..
In Offspring however i dont need to pay close attention to understand what is going on.

I know what you mean. See, to me, the complex and insanely brutal stuff I indulge in is like reading an exciting book that is more essential to my happiness than sleep, euphoria, or even food. I just wanna see it the whole way through, but in many ways never want it to end. I'm focused, but it's a form of letting loose. Shedding the burdens of other shit.

Nile. Besides that, I would have voted either Mastodon or Lamb Of God.

Go for the Nile.

I'll chose Nile

And the Offspring are definately not punk, not even close.

They are a trashy pop tryhard band, who's songs only get used in American teen movies. Songs that could have been written by a 9 year old, while the members act like 9 year olds

Punk

John Simon Richie's (aka Sid Vicious) ashes would be in an uproar

Thank you. Death to false punk!

Yes he does. For you see: Magnus Rosen of HammerFall, Marko Paasikoski of Sonata Arctica, Patrice Geurs of Rhapsody - all bass players who can actually play the bass. All musicians who have worked hard to be where they are today.

It's not as if SP actually used deep and complex bass riffs in their music. Not that those crappy bands you mentioned do, either, but-
*rest deleted out of human kindness*

And change yer sig, ye ingrate.

Yes but Sid was of such musical incompetence they had to pay Glen Matlock to come back and record the parts on the album. There's a difference between having effective rudimentary skills and being utterly useless with the instrument in front of you. Sid was in the Sex Pistols soley because he was a snotty little cunt that could throw a pose, and that, good Zad, is the line between real and false music.

No-one's denying the lack of skill in the Pistols. They weren't about that, they were about spirit and rebellion, perfect for that era. It's at times like these I wish I knew more about PM so I could bring up Matthias Gottfjordliebenswaltfeindlewurst who just joined WindFallFlyHawkGloryHammerArtica to make them look good...

"Real" and "false" music?! Manowar fan. There's more to the topic than that, and you know it...

The only 'spirit' Sid Vicious had was what he hosed down his throat every night. As I said, there's a difference between basic skill and utter incompetence - Steve Jones only started playing guitar 3 months before he joined the Pistols. He put in a power of work every day to be in the position to record in a band. Vicious was just there to be on the stage, take the drugs and shag the groupies. In essence, he was the first hair metal star, except an even worse musician. All this 'spirit of punk' bullshit is just there to mask what a worthless human being he was.

And please, you can do better than this:

Or at least I thought you could.
