There's even some AOR on here, too. A lot of proggy stuff you'd heard from Spock's Beard like flute, violin, and orchestration. It's quite varied.

OK, so after about 20 listens throughout the day I am thouroughly hooked. This CD is fucking awesome! That review was quite accurate, this is a killer album. There is a LOT of variety here, musically and vocally. This Clay Barton guy is all over the map, high-pitched, mid-range, heavy and raspy, some guttural parts (not death metal-ish, though, just low and heavy), the dude has got some serious range!

Musically you get some straight up power metal, some rock/AOR, even some new age-like moments with the piano, saxophone and flute, there's heavy prog like Zero Hour, there's orchestration and choir work, it's just a very diverse album...and it flows seemlessly.

I think some of you would really like this album.

Very good release. Strong Prog Metal. The variety is the key here. From Rhapsody/Angra melodic stuff, to almost In Flames themes, through saxophone ballads, huge, epic atmosphere. One of my favourite albums of 2005 :)

If I'd heard this in 2005 it would have been in my Best Of list.

This Is Clay from Suspyre. Thank you all for your kind words. We put this album out by ourself because we were really excited about it. We're currently working on new stuff which is a little darker and a little more progressive. We should have a sneak peak around the end of april or so...check in and let us know what you think. We always check myspace so leave us your thoughts. Thank you all...

I'm listening to "Serpent I Am" right now, and I'm not too keen on it, but I'll give the others a listen. Not bad, though.

Serpent I Am is the best metal song I've heard in months.

I liked the first two songs, but then myspace gayed up just after the intro to Serpent I Am (an intro I didn't like).

"Serpent I Am" is different from most of the songs on the CD, the quasi-industrial-sounding beginning, it's a bit groovier, too. The hook is awesome, though.

Blah, there were 2 topics/post on the same thing :lame:

Anyway, I liked both new songs. Especially the newer one. Nice.

Yeah, there's a bunch of Suspyre threads around here because the Reverend posts them, too.
