One person doesn't need talent to make a song like Filosofem. I played it on my first time with the guitar. But the many of the most talented musicians in the world can not come up with such a beautiful riff. Burzum is only and all about atmosphere.

And fuck the kvlt kiddies, he's an idol because he made 4 awesome black metal masterpieces befor killing Euronymous.

Burzum is not shite, you just have no no taste in black metal.

well it depends,the white stripes for example(not metal but meh) have become a great hype after seven nation army and various other songs, but can Jack White sing?no,therefor he has no singing talent yet his fans don't seem to care.

but you still need musical talent in some amount

He's also a shitty guitarist, and his sister can't drum, but who's counting?

Personally, Burzum's about the atmosphere, but there are many great moments on, for example, the s/t, where the drumming changes tempo and goes almost tribal. People who dismiss Burzum because Varg's not Flo are really missing the point. Anyway, Crast, I'd accept the kvlt kiddies argument for Mayhem, not Burzum.

um, Euronymus and Hellhammer had/have talent. I think all those norwegian bands did, especially Emperor..

Burzum isn't a musician, he's an artist. Musical technique can help an artist achieve things he couldn't before, but it isn't mandatory for the artist to shred like Petrucci (who is an amazing musician, but a terrible artist) in order to create something powerful.

What Burzum lacks in technique, it makes up for with passion and atmosphere, thing that is way more important for art.
