For some reason, Iron Maiden's Brave New World album is very... touching, I suppose. It's just probably a personal thing.

I think its just very emotive music. Particularly The Thin Line Between Love and Hate. Its a very good album to just sit and reflect to.

This is what the guy from Behemoth had to say about Slaves Shall Serve. Weird huh ?

Maybe this explains why we feel strange while listening to it.

In all seriousness this song makes me feel powerful. It's not exactly the right word for it but I can't really explain it. Probably gives me an adrenaline boost.

I have Crowley's Book of the Law. It's a great read, you should check it out. The song becomes that much better when you actually know what he's talking about.

Crowley ist krieg! 8)

Thanks. I've been meaning to read that for a long time, I only could find the e-book. I'll start reading it after this.

That reminds me, we should totally have a thread about Necronomicon but I didn't start one because people here don't seem to be interested in this kind of shit.

I'm interested in that kind of shit. Three of us is more than enough...

Hrmm after I thought about it I came up with some more, although not necissarily metal songs. Most of these I haven't listened to in a few years. I guess I really only got "emotional" about music when I was a bit younger (I think most people are that way) These days it's all about what's grim and heavy as fuck. :x Maybe it goes in cylces. Like when you first start listening to music as a young teenager you will latch on to just about anything, then you become more picky about what you listen to. From what I have read on here, people that have spent long periods of time getting into Black and Death metal start gravitating back towards music that evokes emotion (post rock) rather than being technically impressive.

Anyway at one point or another one of these songs made me sit and think.

Theatre of Tragedy - And When He Falleth

Adema - Promises

Marilyn Manson - Coma White

Fleetwood Mac - Dreams

Def Tones - Around the Fur, Shut up and Drive

Quicksilver Messenger Service - The Calvary is the first one that came to my mnd...

lately Last Day of Winter (Pelican) had that exact same effect on me...

usually mental images show easier if the song's instrumental (for it allows more imagination to interract with the music) 8)

Grave Digger - Silence (from The Grave Digger)

Emotional, sad song that builds up towards the end. Really grabs me, makes me feel sad, as the lyrics is something i can imagine doing with a loved one.

Awesome song too
