I have To Travel For Evermore, is it good? I honestly remember it not being that good.

I like it. It was harder to get into than Far From the Madding Crowd, but it’s still pretty good. Get FFTMC for some good Wuthering Heights, or listen to the song called “Dream walker.” Its from their first release Within.

I was totally surprised by the lack of folk on TTFE. I mean, its still there to some extent, but I'd call it more Neo-Classical Power Metal than Folk Power Metal, which is what I assmued all their stuff would be after hearing FFTMC.

True. I guess the first Wuthering Heights I heard was Within, so TTFE was a step up from that and then FFTMC was up from that.

I appologize for bumping, but I listened some more to "Far From the Madding Crowd" and now im really of the opinion that it's awesome. Some true talent at work here. Favorite song atm is "Land of Olden Glory".

So are the two first albums worth checking out?

I'm surprised to see so many negative opinions of Far From a Madding Crowd. I think that album is absolute brilliance in songwriting and delivery. It's earned a gold plated pedastal in my Hallowed Hall of Fame. It will likely land on my top-20 metal albums of all time.

The first two Wuthering albums lacked the energy and maturity of FFaMC, IMO. If I had heard them first I would have loved them, but I was introduced to WH via Madding Crowd. So the first two were like a step down. Still really good songwriting, but it sounds more laid back. Most of that could be attributed to the change of singers. Nils Patrik Johannson's vocals are a much better fit for Erik Ravn's gifted songwriting. Nils really adds that extra PUNCH on Madding that pushed it over the edge into masterpiece for me.

For those who haven't heard any WH, they have song and samples available on their website:

Also, their myspace page made by a fan:

Wuthering Heights has been at the top of my play list for the past few weeks. Especially "To Travel Forevermore." FftMC is still my all time favorite, but with songs like "Battle of the Seasons" and "See Tomorrow Shine," TTFE makes for a solid album. Great band. I'm looking forward to their '06 release.

Edit - Wait, I started this thread. Awesome band
