I have a theory that Devendra Banhart and Varg are quite alike musically.

In fact, I think that if you like Burzum's debut album, you'll maybe like Devendra Banhart's Rejoicing In The Hands.

Both albums share:

- Minimalism
- Hypnotic or trance indusing
- Original vocals
- Mainly guitar but some arrangements to add atmosphere. Varg uses synth, Devendra a bit of piano and strings.
- The first time you play it, you'll probably hate it.

And also... as a fun fact...

Vargs tries to look like Hitler:

Devendra looks like Jesus Christ:

So anyway... all you Burzum fans download Rejoicing In The Hands (or a few songs) and tell me if I'm right.

I know it's a stupid thread, but it just ocurred to me.

:P

The greatest musicians are usually also the weirdest, Varg is a living proof of it.

What does Devendra's original vocals sound like? Varg's off Hvis STILL stand out to this day, so I'm really curious if you are saying they compare. Sounds like awesomeness.

Thanks for the suggestion, Daniel.

And speaking of Varg's images I think this one reflects his views best:

Don't take it too seriously (dload and you'll see why), it's kind of a joke, although they do share certain elements... I quite like Devendra though...
