Well, I listen mostly to 80s stuff. But if we are talking about non-metal stuff the list looks like this:

Van Halen, Lee Aaron, Laos, Digger, Bad English, Europe, Baton Rouge, Bon Jovi, Femme Fatale, Warrant, Saraya, Faster Pussycat, Chrissy Steele and many more.

My girlfriend is really into Hard Rock/AOR from the 80s so I listen to this stuff whether I want to or not  (joking! I like this stuff a lot!)

Well, It's what happens to me, when we are in the car. My wife likes a lot Europe, Bon Jovi, Boston, Scorps, Magnum, guns and the like, but can't stand heavier stuff. So this stuff always sound when we are together, and I left the heavier stuff for when I'm alone.

Everything about 80's rock was a moment in time. The music today is vastly different, of course, but everything is different! Lyrics, concerts, attitudes, everything. 80's rock was all about having a blast! Yes, it was often cheesy, but that was the point. These bands like The Darkness who claim to be a throwback to that time just completely miss the point.

And not only was it a fucking blast, a lot of the music was simply awesome. A good majority of it. These days you have a few good bands mixed in with a ton of mediocre to shitty bands, back then it was a ton of good bands mixed in with a few mediocre to shitty bands.

I can understand that 80's rock is gone, but the VIBE, the atmosphere needs to return.

I'm lucky because there's no problem when I play heavier stuff like Chastain, Hexx, Cacophony. She likes it too. Now I'm at the point of getting her used to Bathory, Burzum & Immortal

Ugh...I could never dig on The Cult. I hate Ian Astbury's voice.

imo they were quite good. particulary when they got farer from any hard rock related music... "Love" & "Ceremony" are two very good album, my fav'... Sonic Temple was okay but I grew tired of it pretty fast.

Sonic Temple was too .. commerical I guess is the word, maybe Bob Rock (nice name) had something to do with it. Didn't really stand the test of time, although I can still enjoy Sun King, Fire Woman and Automatic Blues.

Love was probably their best.
