Last time we had this thread I nominated the Melvins and Esoteric. those stand.

Also Boris, Drudkh, Fantomas + Mr. Bungle, Maudlin of the Well + Kayo Dot and Cephalic Carnage. they don't have a single bad album between them (although the vanity EPs by each member of the Melvins can be disputed, haha.)

I'd like to add Crionics. While only two albums, they are spelndid and I'm looking forward to another one.

They're pretty good, but I think Neurosis are better, although I think I need to listen to Isis some more

Checked Tribes Of Neurot out yet? And Steve Von Til's solo stuff is worth checking ( www.neurotrecordings.com ).

I'm still kinda wary of these bands because of the large amount of hardcore that's crept in, thanks to Neurosis. but Isis is definetly my favourite of them all.

A bit much, isn't it? I love the Steve Von Till stuff, though.

I can understand, and agree with Amon Amarth and Bolt Thrower(jesus fuck the new CD is awsome). But Limbonic Art? I *really* like Limbonic, but is really 'Ultimate Death Worship' as good as 'In Abhorrence..'? And 'Epitome of Illusions', I mean, I know I enjoy "Sources to Agonies", but c'mon...how good is it really?

That being said, 'In Abhorrence Dementia' is a fucking masterpiece.

Now, next band:
Dark Tranquillity? Consistently good? Dunno really, I like all thier albums, but 'Projector' definatly isn't as strong as say 'The Minds I', or 'Haven' or 'Character'

Anyway, my 2c...
