Both bands have put out some shitty ass albums in their time. But man oh man, the good ones are fucking Great!!! I refuse to make a choice. Both are great and I'm leaving it at that.

Maiden. I'm sure I did this once, Stefan. Running out of ideas?

Edit: I did!

Maiden easy. They have the superior vocalist, started stronger, had a comeback that didn't suck, and just plain make better music.

Maiden, just personal preference. I can't remember the last time I felt an urge to put on any Priest, but I listen to Powerslave often enough.

I'm just going to quote RC on this one and save myself some typing.

Have to go with Maiden once again.

Both have brought out poor albums at times but Maiden is overall more consistent.
Havent had a Priest album where i've liked the entire album, especially their early years where i would have liked just 1/4 of the album. Their later stuff, more to bout half to 3/4.

Have to disagree and say Virtual XI is a good album, better than NPFTD, FOTD, BNW & DOD and Blaze did a great job as frontman.

I will go with Judas Priest, because they rock! I was into Maiden before Priest and then my birthday came around got some money and went on a Priest spending spree. I got Screaming for Vengeance, British Steel, Defenders of the Faith, Sad Wings of Destiny, Killing Machine, and Stained Class. Not a dud in all of those. They all kick ass. Sure Rocka Rolla, Turbo, and Ram it Down are not very good, but they do have some good tunes in them. Like Rocka Rolla, Locked In, and Ram it Down. I will admit that Maiden had a stronger start, I just love Iron Maiden and Killers my two all time favourite Maiden albums. But the Bruce era Maiden is good to, I like his debut up to Somewhere in Time (thats right I don't like Seventh Son). But Priest wins just because of Painkiller. Plus Angel is better then Brave New World. Another reason is the Ripper years, Jugulator is an awesome album (Demolition is good but not that good) I can't stand Blaze Maiden. So Priest easily takes this.

You know what. As far as absolutely perfect heavy metal albums go...I think Judas Priest and Iron Maiden match up pretty well. Iron Maiden has more awesome heavy metal records, but Judas Priest....their really awesome records...and there's quite a few ofthem, revolutionized heavy metal and influenced Iron Maiden quite heavily.....yes heavy, heavy is good. And Judas Priest at their best were so mind boggilingly awesome that choosing between IM and JP is a waste of time, because you should be listening to both anyway.

Yeah, just like I did yesterday. I followed up Screaming For Vengeance with Number Of The Beast, until I changed it with some Tiamat to indulge my girlfriend and promptly fell asleep.
