This is kinda tough because I prefer both but I'll go with Kiske for nostalgic reasons.

The Deris era has some excellent material but Kiske is untouchable.

Awesome albums with Kiske: Keepers 1 and 2.

Awesome albums with Deris: Master of The Rings, Time of The Oath, The Dark Ride, and the new Keepers: Legacy.

Deris > Kiske.

You've got two flops in the history of Helloween, both are Kiske era flops, thus Deris-era is better. Obviously the Kiske-era had the biggest impact overall, particularly Keeper I and II, but they've had nary a bad song with Deris on vocals, at least in my book.

Deris-era by a good distance.

Eh, quality over quantity. For me the Deris era can pile on the albums but still never top the classic Helloween.

I voted Kiske but really, it wasn't an easy choice to make

what made me vote that way is that, despite two not so great album (Pink Bubbles & Chameleon), Kiske era still has more good songs than the Deris era...

I prefer Kinske area, the two keepers are a landmark in the metal history. From the Deris era, I think (by the moment) that only the Dark Ride could be considered as one landmark... so could have been keepers legacy if they have decided to select better the songs and don't have made a double album.

The Dark Ride is overrated. Hahaha. And Rabbit Don't Come Easy is underrated. Weirdos! :D

Deris. He has always been the better vocalist of the two. And Kiske has only 2 good albums which, even if are very influential, I don't listen much now. The Dark Ride, Rabbits, the new Keepers and Better Than Raw are still regularly playing.

Difficult choice. I mean, the Deris-era cetainly has more good songs (more albums of course), but we're talking about voting against Keeper of the Seven Keys here! I do not suffer heresy lightly.

Yeah it was overall quite shite, but it still had some decent tunes. If it was a single cd album with some of the weaker songs filtered out I might have given it around 85/100. But as it is now it's 70/100. Weak for Helloween.

Anyway, I voted Ders.

Yeah, it was totally weak. Deris and new Helloween lose points for shitting on the Keeper name.

As if being Andy Deris wasn't enough, they had to make the insult personal.

Kiske for being a better (IMHO!) vocalist, but Deris era for having put out some excellent albums: TDR (way UNDERRATED, if you ask me, Eyesore ;)), TOTO, Keeper 3, BTR and reviving the band... somewhat confusing, but I clicked on the Michael Kiske dot so...

P.S. Nothing can touch the ALMIGHTY Keeper I,II albums

Hansen era owns all other eras! There Holy Terror, I beat you to it 8)

Seriously though, I can't decide.
On a side note, I'll just say that I like the way Deris handled the pressure. It must have been hell for him. Kiske was so great, so influential, that even today, even though Deris has put out almost twice as many albums as Kiske with Helloween, he's still not quite out of Kiske's shadow. And I think he's had a lot of insecurities. When I saw them live a few weeks ago, after Deris introduced the band, Gerstner introduced Deris as "the best singer in Helloween's history", which can be interpreted as the band trying to show Deris their support, which means he's probably had a tough time. It must have been tough, and I respect him for carrying on and not quiting.
