Which is what people are learning not to like. A minority, yes, but it's a start.

Some metalcore is solid, but I don't like it as thrash.

Check out Demiricous, rather like Holy Moses.

Thrash is dead only to MTV fans.

Italy's Vexed, Aussie's Gospel Of The Horns would have my votes. Sauron's probably the best though haa.....

Good thrash bands... they'll be remembered for preserving the scene, if you ask me. Do you think I was foolish to include Biomechanical on this list? They really don't represent the 80's wave, but maybe the rebirth of thrash as a foremost genre in metal?

I've heard abit of Biomechanical.... i wouldnt call them thrash.

Over the past few years we saw alot of old thrash bands reuniting, although 90% of them released mediocre material haha. The best stuff are released by new thrash bands. Sure they are all underground bands and they'll never go up to the status of the classic bands. It's still a good thing, it keeps the poseurs out. I dont think thrash needs to be big again, trendies will only kill the scene in time haha. The underground storms eternally !

There is this band called Frightmare that got a perfect score in www.metalreview.com
Any1 listened to it?

Btw i have listened to 1 song by Sauron and found them pretty good.
But i prefer Aura Noir for that style.

IMO Aura Noir is decent, but heavily overrated. Sauron kills Aura Noir anyday, listen to more than just a song :P.

Calling metalcore as new thrash ? Probably that's how forest metal got bunched up with black metal :P. Hardcore in thrash metal already existed 20 years ago anyway.

Sauron is killer, but I don't think they can really "lead" this revival since they aren't nearly as popular as a band like Municipal Waste.

Toxic Holocaust is awesome, too. Nice list, by the way. I'd also throw in Nocturnal (Germany) as well.

Which is my point, they dont need to be popular. They'll still kick Municipal Waste's asses anyday anytime.

Nocturnal's a very good band, Arrival Of The Carnivore and Thrash With The Devil are great releases.

I agree that Sauron is superior, but I don't think MW is bad at all. I don't really think that thrash is going to make a huge comeback, but as long as there are still artists out there making good thrash, I don't really mind it being underground. I do think a band like MW, which has a constantly growing fan base as they get more popular might be able to, perhaps, inspire similar-sounding bands to come out to the forefront.

Like I said though, whether thrash makes a comeback or not, it really doesn't bother me. I still have Spectrum of Death, and it's not going anywhere  .

Try Suicide Watch (.co.uk), they're much better than MW.

I have their full-length from last year... killer stuff! When I bring up MW, it is more when dealing how popular they are. They put on a great live show, too. Last time I saw them, they brought out the boogie boards and beer bong.
