3 short samples Sign Of Fear; Face The Emptiness; Everytime It Rains:

Everytime It Rains peaked my interest the most. I love the duet! Primal Fear is branching out a bit here.

I heard those a while ago and thought they're fucking awesome. Looks like PF will hit us hard with a great album, once again.

After the first listen no track really grabbed me. I am sure PF fans will be satisfied, but there is nothing new here. "Everytime it rains" is a pretty cool track that could well be a commercial smashhit, but unfortunately the recordlabel is probably not intrested enough to put big money on advertisement budget...

"Sign Of Fear" sounds awesome. Ralph's high pitched screams are incredible. Like Rob Halford, he speaks to bats regularly. I wasn't to big on the background chanting.

"Face The Emptiness" sounds like your standard Primal Fear track. Good stuff.

"Everytime It Rains" does sound like it has HIT written all over it. Simone has one of the most beautiful voices going today. She and Ralph sound really fantastic together.

I've been hooked on PF for awhile now. They're one of the best powermetal bands, if not THE BEST, I can't wait for this to be released over here in the US.

Unfortunately it seems to be nowhere near as good as Seven Seals :(

The samples sound really promising to me, and this coming from someone who has been dissappointed by their output after Black Sun. Everytime it Rains is indeed rather blatantly commercial (surprised they didn't make a video for that one, but for two other songs instead), but actually seems really good for what it is and shows an interesting different side of the band.

Having listened to the whole album, I take back the last sentence. The first three songs (from which the samples are) are great, but after that it goes downwhill fast (with the exception of World On Fire, which is a pretty cool song). A bland and uninspired attempt at melodic power metal. I thought maybe it will grow on me, but after repeated listenings my conclusion is the same: it's simply boring. After the excellent Seven Seals, New Religion is nothing but a major disapointment for me.

Seriously, am I the only one who considers Seven Seals to be terribly sub-par for Primal Fear? About half the songs sound like they're recycled from Jaws of Death, which was their creative nadir to begin with, and Demons and Angels is totally ripped off Lightyears from Home as well. It's kind of obvious the Mat Sinner is running out of ideas when the Sinner cover Question of Heaven is far and away the best song. The only other one on there that strikes me as truly memorable is the title track, which just so happens the be the most (for PF) atypical track on the album, so maybe that means they should start "experimenting" a little more often. But then again there's "In Memory", which is total Creed/Nickelback/Staind/other dime-a-dozen post grunge crap worship.

I think you might be. Seven Seals was Primal Fear's best album since Nuclear Fire...it may even be better than Nuclear Fire. So many killer tracks "Demons & Angels" (which totally kills Lightyears From Home, by the way), "Evil Spell", "All For One", "Immortal Ones" and the bonus track "Higher Power". There is not one bad song on the album, however i do find myself sometimes skipping "Diabolus" and "A Question Of Honour".

That being said, I've never considered that Primal Fear have released a bad album. All of them are excellent and each around the same level as the previous. But i just thought with Seven Seals, that the band really lifted a notch, went up another level so to speak.

As with the new album, after listening to those samplers, i'm looking forward to it, but remain undecided. I like the ballad with Simone Simons and the second track was typical PF. The first track will take a little time to get used to.

I am wondering what has happened to Tom Nauman? He did not record on the album and seems to be no longer part of the band. Henny Wolter has now returned. I dont mind Wolter's playing, but i really enjoyed Nauman axe-shredding. Thats something i will most certainly miss on the new album.

Based on what you're saying, I hope this album doesn't turn into another Devil's Ground.

Devil's Ground is their weakest IMO. The only standout tracks are Suicide and Mania and The Healer. Metal is Forever to too cheezy for me and the rest of the songs are filler. I've enjoyed all their other releases though.

+1 on that. Imo their last 2 albums are more matured and melodic and I think PF are moving in the right direction. Before Seven Seals all of their albums sounded the same to me, slightly above average with a few killer songs. Nuclear Fire was the exception and it was the peak of their power/speed sound. Seven Seals was moving away from that traditional sound and New Religion is even a stronger effort in that direction. Some fillers still plague this album but there are enough killer songs to overlook that problem. The only song I could live without is the closing track The Man (That I Don't Know). Fighting The Darkness is the highlight of the album for me. New Religion is their most balanced album and probably the one i'll be listening the most.

Putting my rabid love of the Eagles, aside, that was definitely cheap, but the announcer got a little carried away.

You have to have your head on a swivel when running up the field on punt returns, especially if you're the punter.

That said, Antwan Barnes, a recent draftee, should try to make his mark elsewhere instead of laying out unsuspecting kickers. On another note, if that guy can consistently punt like that, I hope he gets the job.

WHOAMFG!!!! :omfg: I had no idea Henny Wolter had returned to the band. I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this point, this is most excellent news to me. Nuclear Fire and Black Sun IMO have far better and more energetic guitar work than any other Primal Fear, and I've always assumed that's due to Henny Wolter's presence on them. Come on, you cannot possible argue with the solo of the song Nuclear Fire, or the visceral kick of the first minute of Fight the Fire. Pretty much THE definition of axe-shredding to me. Tom has some great stuff too (solo of Paragon's "Impaler" for one), but if I'm to choose between one of them it's Henny all the way. When listening to the "Sign of Fear" clip, it did strike me how the guitars reminded me of Nuclear Fire (definitely their best in my book), so this I guess explains it. This has me looking forward to the album even more than before.
