Rammstein To Enter Studio In November

German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN will enter the studio around November 6 to begin recording their new album, tentatively due late spring/early summer through Republic/Universal Records. Production duties will once again be handled by Jacob Hellner, who worked with the group on 2001's "Mutter". No further information is available at this time.

As previously reported, RAMMSTEIN will issue a DVD, entitled "Lichtspielhaus" (German for "Cinema" or "Movie House") in PAL and NTSC formats on November 17.

KROKUS: Double Live Album, DVD To Surface Next Year

Veteran Swiss hard rockers KROKUS are currently compiling a double live album and DVD recorded earlier this year. The set, which will contain all the classics along with a few surprises, is due in 2004. More information will be made available soon.

KROKUS' latest CD, "Rock The Block", debuted at No. 1 on the Swiss Album chart upon its release in January and has since achieved platinum status in the group's home country.

New Ayreon Album In The Works

AYREON, the brainchild of Dutch guitarist Arjen Lucassen (ex-BODINE, VENGEANCE), are currently recording their sixth studio album, tentatively due in early 2004 through Transmission Records.

Among the guest vocalists set to appear on the album are the following:

Reunited San Francisco Bay Area metallers DEATH ANGEL will enter a Northern California studio with producer Brian Dobbs (MANMADEGOD, VOIVOD) on December 1 to begin recording their first CD since 1990's "Act III", tentatively due in the spring through Nuclear Blast Records.

Uriah Heep / Deep Purple members unite in supergroup

The new "supergroup" featuring members of URIAH HEEP, DEEP PURPLE and OZZY OSBOURNE's former bass player Bob Daisley has reportedly been christened THE RAGE.

The band, which consists of Daisley, Lee Kerslake (URIAH HEEP, OZZY OSBOURNE) on drums, Jon Lord (DEEP PURPLE) and Don Airey (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW) on keyboards, Steve Morse (DEEP PURPLE) on guitar, and Jimmy Barnes (COLD CHISEL) on vocals, will release their debut album early next year on Melbourne record producer Michael Gudinski's Liberation label.

Slayer's Kerry King Speaks About New Box Set

SLAYER guitarist Kerry King recently spoke to Guitar.com about the group's long-awaited box set, "Soundtrack To The Apocalypse", due on November 25 through American Recordings/Ume.

Opeth Working on DVD

OPETH have spent the weekend supervising the pre-mix of the live tracks recorded on September 25 in London. "Deliverance" mixer and co-producer Andy Sneap will take care of the final mix. The as-yet-untitled DVD will contain both the mellow and heavy set with a running time of approximately an hour each, as well as a unique 65-minute documentary about the band with in-depth focus on the recording of "Deliverance" and "Damnation". It will also include excusive interviews with the band and producer. A two-CD live album will also be issued in the coming months.

Concert Report: Helloween in Toronto, October 10th.

The chance to finally see Helloween after being a huge fan of the band for almost 18 years now was something I couldn't pass up. Buying my tickets in June when they first went on sale, the 4 months between then and the concert seemed like an eternity. When the day finally arrived, I couldn't believe it....I was actually going to see Helloween!!! I would've preferred seeing them with Roland and Uli still in the band but nevertheless, it didn't dampen the excitement.

Getting into the show a bit late, we arrived during the middle of the opening act, Warmachine a great old school style of metal band from Toronto. I was very impressed by their set and so were lots of ot ...


The Haunted Split With Singer, Replace With Original Singer

Swedish high-energy thrashers THE HAUNTED have officially parted ways with vocalist Marco Aro and have replaced him with his predecessor, the group's original frontman Peter Dolving (MARY BEATS JANE, THE PETER DOLVING BAND). Check out a new band photo at this location.

"The rock just does it for me!" Peter writes on his web site. "OK, it's official. I'll be joining THE HAUNTED again. Marco wanted to be a bricklayer and I'm getting my second kid so it seems a perfect thing for this time in my life (doing the DIY-thing really has you hanging by the skin of your teeth financially...). I joined the band for a couple of shows this summer and it worked out great, so I'm really looking ...
