CRADLE OF FILTH singer Dani Filth (a.k.a. Dani Davey) has commented on the band's upcoming CD, "Nymphetamine", the group's first for new label Roadrunner Records.

The follow-up to last year's "Damnation and a Day", "Nymphetamine" (roughly translated as the druggish beast-like addiction to beautiful, classical women) was produced by ANTHRAX guitarist Rob Caggiano, who has previously worked with the group during the mixing stage for "Damnation.... It has been officially confirmed today that legendary guitarist Uli Jon Roth (ex-SCORPIONS) will embark an American co-headlining tour with the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP (MSG) starting at the end of August. OPETH frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt has started writing material for the group's next album, tentatively scheduled to be recorded sometime in the early spring of 2005. In other news, Åkerfeldt recently visited No Man Studios in Hemel Hampstead, U.K. to lay down some guitars and backing vocals for the next, as-yet-untitled PORCUPINE TREE record. Mikael plays guitar on one track and sings backing vocals on another five songs. The album is due for release late this year. German power metallers EDGUY have added a New York City date to their upcoming itinerary. In addition to performing at the ProgPower USA V festival (September 18) at Earthlink Live in Atlanta, GA and at the Key Club in Hollywood, California (September 19), EDGUY will be at NYC's B.B. King's on September 15. Tickets for the L.A. and NYC shows go on sale next week. Mexican dates will take place after the Los Angeles show.

Sweden's AMON AMARTH have completed work on their new album, "Fate of Norns", according to an online posting by the band's vocalist Johan Hegg. "Currently we're preparing for the upcoming Rock The Nations Festival in Istanbul on July 3rd-4th.
