Oreida comes from the burgeoning and mysterious Portuguese black metal underground, and at the first glance you might think it would be all raw and audibly inaccessible. Guitars come to the forefront with minimal vocals on Inngangur, and the track pauses in pregnant anticipation while melody plays with no percussion. At any moment you expect the hammer to drop and screechy rawness to begin ... yet it never starts.

Don't except ambient softness either, but mad rush of Eldhrid and semi-spoken croaking vocals spur on the feel of ancient euphoria, not too different of some French black metal bands. Speaking of France, Oreida are Portuguese so they can't be called Gauls, consider the Eldhrid the run of ancient exalted Lusitanians. Euphoria continues with Skugginn, bells sound, and the track at times sounds like Alcest on steroids to me. Not too dense sonically, Skugginn gets cut off mid-sentence, making me think that the demo is still a number of raw ideas thrown together in hopes of coming up with a finished product someday.
