Short, speedy, and gritty punk is what you will get with the Canadian duo Dethfox and their debut EP Natural Media Teleforce. Only reaching about nine minutes in length, this swift punk album leaves just enough to taste before it’s over.

Natural Media Teleforce will probably be the quickest listen I will have this year. Songs do not even reach over the two minute mark in some cases, but well enough serves out what an EP is supposed to do. Unfortunately, the punk sound isn't something I fancy, and Natural Media Teleforce doesn't do much to turn that around for me. It’s a loud, speedy devil punk with a shade of grunge.

Fear Pope Departure is a hasty track, filled with accelerated power chords that dance all around, but much of the EP feels about the same and was hard to pull much of anything memorable from it. The band really emerges in the final track, Run State Wrong. I’ll admit it had a fun groovy short guitar moment, but it ended far too soon.

This short look into Dethfox isn't the type of band I am usually used to. I can see fans of punk finding this to be interesting nonetheless, but it’s not often I brave the punk scene. I’ll admit it was a bit of fun delving into this one, the change of scenery and all, but it in no way made me come forth with a new found love for punk.
