Album of the month

Jag Panzer is a band that have been around for more than 15 years now, and even then they changed their lineup on more than one occasion they certainly always managed to deliver surprisingly good releases. This one is no exception, actually I was already very surprised by their previous album Thane To The Throne on which they showed everyone how well they could play US Power Metal. But this Mechanized Warfare is taking Jag Panzer to another level and I believe it's their best album so far (the best I've heard from them that is).

What an album my friends. Mechanized Warfare is pure Heavy Metal in the veins of what was made in the 80's with today's production and feeling. The music is raw and yet melodic in the same time with excellent arrangements that give the sound a whole new amplitude, one rarely heard these days. The maturity of the song-writing (almost progressive sometimes) is simply excellent and the song variety is yet another great thing about this album. Mechanized Warfare is a jewel that will reveal its true reflection more and more as you listen to it. It will grow on you and the songs will have a deeper impact the more the time will pass. The vocals are simply amazing, with so many different style of singing showed here (or should I say demonstrated). So are the guitar riffs and solos throughout this Heavy Metal masterpiece. The originality of some songs like Unworthy with its deep church-like choirs mixed perfectly with the mind blowing riffs is setting a new standard in the style and simply demonstrate how good and original these guys are.

The production is very good and the artcover is simply the best I've seen since a very very long time, a great compositing job, mixing different elements and effects for an overall picture leaving me begging for more. Great job !

Rise up Heavy Metal fans, this powerful and melodic atomic bomb release is for you. If you're into Heavy Metal then don't miss this one for the world !
