Ian Parry, Elegy's singer just made a solo album. Does it ring a bell ? No ? Well you'd better check the last Elegy album then. Especially now that Ian has party with Patrick Ronda (one of the best guitar player in the world as far as I'm concerned).

Anyway let's go back on his solo album. It sounds not bad actually, it's hard-rock, a guy sings, others play guitars and a mad man is hurting his drum heavily. What I mean is that it's nice but I really don't see anything new here. Ian Parry have a very good voice, very well suited for hard-rock. On some songs I'm really impressed with his voice like on "Turn Back The Tide". As for the guitars, there's some nice solos and melodies then and there.

I just want to say that I totally disagree with the rip of Children Of Bodom's artcover and I'm offended :) ... like there wasn't enough artists in the world some people just copy paste others work... Anyway, 0/10 on the artcover. The thing is that when you hear the music after seeing the artcover you can ONLY be disapointed, but that's stupid cause there are some very cool tunes on that album and you do not want to put an image of melodic death metal into the mind of the buyer, or you go crash right against the wall.

So the album is very much a melpot of everything you might have heard in 20 years of hard-rock, with some nice moments and very cool and catchy chorus. Imagine Magnum meets Bon-Jovi meets Asia sometimes... with more powerfull sound that is. The overall is positive but I only have the impression of knowing most of the songs already. So despite the lack of originality (same for artcover :) ) I'd say that it's a very good album.
