Surprise of the month

If this one doesn't rock ... After the first track, a rap intro, I was expecting the worst (very good joke !). This is my first Galactic Cowboys record and I must admit it is a good surprise : a mixture of grunch, metal and rock. Not bad at all !!!

First real track is a killer (T.I.M.), a roller-coast rock 'n' roll song that will blast your neck and your legs. The felling I got with this song was too jump in my room, from my bed to the walls. Excellent ! Third one is much heavier, slower, a grunch song. Life and Times (4th song) reminds me a Beatles' ballad. A good ballad, but nothing new ... except may be that the Beatles are really back. Well done ! Fifth song (Flag) is a mixture of grunch and rock 'n' roll, quiet melodic and again this feeling I am back to the 60's & 70's. 6th track is again a killer of the 60's with this new sound for the guitar and also much heavier. Let It Go is a kind of "tribute" to The Beatles (no copy cat, metallic and very refreshing).

If you are into rock 'n' roll stuff and you like grunch and the 60's, this one is a must for you. For all others, give a try and listen to it. I never took the time to listen to Galactic Cowbows (with all those bands !!!) and as I am a fan of The Beatles, I can tell you this one is a nice surprise for me. I'm gonna give a try to their fifth previous records !
