Voodoo Smile was formed by guitarist Alex Rankovic in 1998. In December 2000, Voodoo Smile recorded its first demo tape and Brennus Music signed this hard rock band.

Voodoo Smile reminded me immediately Van Halen, Dokken, White Lion or Pink Cream 69. The guitarist plays like Eddy (Van Halen of course) and this music is very inspired by the 80's, with a modern sound.

In January 2002, Seb joined Voodoo Smile, replacing the band's original singer - Boban Milojevic, the guy who sing on this record - and even though I don't know how the new singer sounds, the band has taken the right decision ... because the singer on All Behind You is out of tune. I didn't notice at the start, but at the end of the CD I realized the guy was getting seriously on my nerves with his "strange" vocals.

Apart this (little ?) detail, the music of Voodoo Smile is excellent. The songs are well worked - at least the majority of them, with only a few exceptions - but all the melodic parts are destroyed by these ... vocals. I hope for the band that the new singer will "score" on next album.

I am not impressed by the production and let's hope also they will have a more decent sound on next one (louder please !!!). I will definitely check their next record, because if they keep the same song-writing quality combined with good vocals, Voodoo Smile might become as interesting as Van Halen or White Lion.

In other words, wait and see.
