Have you heard Moonlyght? They've got a lot of black metal elements, but I like them a lot.

Have you heard Godsend? Dan sang on two of their three albums, it's pretty good progressive doom metal.

no to both, haha. I've tried things like Bloodbath, Pan.Thy.Monium, Diabolaciaodlhgjt etc etc and been unimpressed with all of them. even Edge of Sanity underwhelm me and that's not exactly a popular opinion, haha.

I'll check out Godsend though, I can't turn down doom.

Godsend are good, and of course Dan's vocals and melodies are excellent, but he doesn't write the music so it's not amazing, but it's decent. I'll upload the one album I have tonight for ya.

Have you checked out Nightingale? You should if you haven't already, maybe you can dig on that. If not, I think you're probably a lost cause. Haha.

I can't seem to like Townsend either, but I find Swano pretty cool. Try his only solo project under his own name, Dan Swano - Moontower. It can be labeled as Retro Progressive with DM vocals, it's quite interesting.

Moontower is ridiculously awesome!
