Then, you have to agree Stratovarius,DragonForce and Rhapsody are not metal at all.

No one said that metal can't have great playing and still be true metal. Musicianship just isn't the focal point of metal.

Stratovarius and Rhapsody are gay as fuck, though.

There is more to metal than shitty musicianship. Come on, join the 00's.

Where did i say that metal is about shitty playing? There's more to metal (and music in general) than musicianship. Musicianship (playing technique, knowledge of theory) is merely a tool.

That's just an excuse for shitty musicianship. I don't see the spirit behind their lack of skills, if there was one I'd be nicer.

Well, I must admit that I doubt I would ever listen to Venom just for rockin' enjoyment value. For me they exist as pioneers of an important sound, and a major shaping influence. But I believe that what they achieved has been surpassed many times over.

Even for that, I prefer early Bathory. At least the guy could write songs, however sloppy it was. Just because I like BM, however, doesn't mean I have to love Mayhem.

it's better than the other one you posted.. but... well, it doesn't kick much ass... regular sounding Venom without the punky vibe (except for Cronos shitty vocals, you'd expect he learned a little, he did not...) that made them so fun to me.... and the lead guitars are too "good" for Venom...

not bad but not great either

NP
Steel "Heavy Metal Machine" (Eyesore, you're right, now that you say it, it's just like The Darkness gone metal (thanks to Mr Swano's vocals))

I take it you've never heard Calm Before the Storm or the Tony Dolan era stuff then? Those albums, believe it or not, were about musicianship, and were damn good. Truthfully, I listen to the Tony Dolan stuff more than anything else by them. I particularly like The Wastelands.

I find this album to be the very avatar of all that is mediocre and disappointing.

I found the very first track to be better than expected- so by definition not disappointing. Still, it wasn't enough to make me rush to download the rest of the mp3s. Maybe tonight... I can't think of a better way to spend Friday evening.
