Wow, a lot of suicides in this thread. Sorry guys. Especially TIE, I couldn’t imagine losing my sister.

I even couldn't imagine having a sister.

Very compassionate, dude. The humor was a lost in translation, I presume. If not, why not make fun of NESS for listening to a rap song.

Anyway, this is a fairly depressing thread, eh? :(

Well, when I listen to Tornado of Souls I feel just like Christians probably do when they get into heaven and meet god for the first time... It's like being confronted with the most awesome force in the known universe. So I suppose that's emotional...

Actually, to many things to list... But watching the Johnny Cash "Hurt" video just after he died sticks in the mind as pretty profound.

The most profound Top of the Pops 2 has ever been, anyway

Whew, found one! Much better than wanky druggie Trent Reznor's cover of it, anyway....

Oh, and the keyboards in Left Hand Path (song) do something. I'm sure there's more, just can't think of them.

I'm pretty sure Johnny Cash covered Hurt, and the original is by NIN.

I think Trent looks more like a TROLL than Mortiis does.

Apparently you don't know what trolling is.

I'm afraid Husker pwns Zad with his Johnny Cash/NIN knowledge...

I love both actually... NIN is a bit more avant-garde, whilst Cash strips it right down to it's melodic heart.

Oh yeah, that would explain why I'm unable to type because I'm laughing so much.

the punchline must have been way too highbrow for me..

another song I have a connection with is Dark are the Veils of Death by Candlemass.. but this is for a good reason; it totally defines and justifies my taste! thanks Messiah!

Consequences by Iced Earth. As well as Watching Over Me (particularly the uplifting solo). Also, Handful Of Pain by Helloween (I love those young female backup singers in the chorus), Scavenger of Human Sorrow by Death, Down in a Hole by Alice In Chains, and quite a few other songs.

There is only one song that I can say truly touches me in any way - 'My Erection Is Over' by the Mentors. The tears start welling up every time..

Damn, this is a depressing thread.

"Mina Olen" by Kotiteollisuus, "Trollhammaren" by Finntroll, "Stand And Fall" by Doomtree (the hard rock band, not the rap one) and "Naturens Galleri" by Vintersorg all make me very happy.

Hard rock? They're totally punk...and, there's a rap group with the same name?

Noriyuki Iwadare - Romance At A Windy Isle (Moody violin/piano piece from the Grandia II soundtrack)

Rush - Time Stand Still
Savatage - When The Crowds Are Gone
Within Temptation - In Perfect Harmony

Cant really think of anything else at the moment.
