I have never liked Evergrey. I have tried and tried and tried, but everything about them makes me cringe.

Hehehe. I had a Monday Morning Apocalypse yesterday, too. It was more of a technicanal difficulty, but quite apocalyptic.

Probably because they're lame and awful.

Henrik's new side-project called DeathDestruction is going to kick ass! Jimmie Strimmel from Nightrage is singing, it's pretty heavy shit.

I remember that in the review on this site, the genre was set to Dark Metal. As I didn't hear any dark metal at all, what genre is Evergay anyways?

You should check out the band Michael joined. It's called The Project Hate MCMXCIX and it's some wicked stuff. Their new album Armageddon March Eternal is highly recommended.

Some call them Dark Progressive Metal.

I like Evergrey they're heavy and Tom's voice although not quite the range as Halford fits the music quite well and he has a very good emotional voice to his tone.

The only album I REALLY got into was/is In Search Of Truth... the one with the abductions :)... This one is 90+ for me. Somehow the atmosphere it creates, the musicinship, the production just comes together very nicely, and i LUV it. I've heard all their albums, and altough they have other thematic albums that one is the best.
Wait!.Another excellent one is this live one: "A Night To Remember". Just ripps from start to finish. Another 90+ album. So, if you couldn't get into them with "Recreation Day" or "The Inner Circle" or the older ones, you should check/recheck ISOT or ANTR... maybe it "clicks",like in my case.

P.S. I didn't say I don't like the other albums, those two are simply points of convergence for me, regarding all the aspects a TRULY excellent album has to posess IMHO. (No flames,no flames, I burn really fast :):):) hehehehe)

hope it is better than the inner circle which (even though there are some excellent songs on it) just didn't do it for me. Most of the songs have a lot of softer parts and breaks, which just bore me after a while.

both recreation day and in search for truth were exceptional albums I think, so I am still looking forward to this new release!

The Dark Discovery,Solitude Dominance Tragedy and Recreation Day are their best ones followed by In Search Of Truth and then Inner Circle which isn't the bad album some say it is.

By the way A Night To Remember is a live album so those who don't like live albums may not like it but they are very good live you can tell that by watching the live DVD of ANTR which IMHO is one of the best concert DVD's I have ever seen.

Their music is passionate and atmospheric in nature and like I said you either like Tom's voice or not he might not have a range like Halford but he makes up for it by having a very emotional and passionate vocal range that fits well with Everygrey's music.

You're so funny, Gay1

Evergrey play excellent dark flavoured "progressive" metal.

This thread is becoming gay :P .

I will say that Recreation Day is an excellet album. As for the rest, they each have some killer songs, and some mediocre ones, and perhaps on occassional garbage song.

My favorite evergrey albums are In search of truth, Recreation Day and Solitude Dominance Tragedy. The Inner Circle was a great dissapointment for me as I found it boring and subpar compared to the other three I mentioned. Hope this new title is better, i'm not expecting much though.

What the hell does Halford have to do with this. Jesus Christ.

If I liked Evergrey I'd probably be offended at the mention.

I'm saying that he might not have a high range like Halford but his range fits the music for crying out loud
